Dauntless update 1.62 patch notes (1.7.1) released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC players. According to the official Dauntless 1.62 patch notes, the latest update added new Heroic Escalations, new quests, new rumors, and more. Apart from this, Dauntless version 1.62 also includes various bug fixes.

What is new in Dauntless 1.62 (1.7.1)?

BALANCE

HUNTING GROUNDS

  • Aether Surge, High Alert, and Shards of Chaos events have been temporarily disabled on Cape Fury. They will return in 1.7.2 once Slayers have calmed the storm caused by Thunderdeep Drask.

ESCALATION

  • Heroic Escalation weekly rewards increased to 100 combat/exploration merits and 20000 rams.
  • Boreus will no longer appear in Heroic Escalations while we address points of friction. Everyone picks on poor Boreus…
  • The Thrill of the Hunt amp has been reduced to 2/3/4/5% damage per Behemoth slain from 2.5/5/7.5/10% damage.

DRASK

  • Shadowtouched Drask’s head no longer causes damage during its gravity dunk move.
  • Drasks build up rage throughout the encounter and tail breaks will increase the chance that rage occurs.
  • Added a new combat entrance for Shadowtouched Drask.
  • Added an audio cue to the beginning of Drask’s lightning breath attack. That’s your cue to get out of the way, Slayer.

SKARN

  • Skarn’s interrupt window during its bulldozer move is now during the charging animation instead of at the start.

QUALITY OF LIFE

STORE

  • Individual Dyes are now available for purchase for 100 platinum.

UI

  • Added a new icon for the Parasitic debuff.
  • Added more information to the UI to explain how the seasonal coins work and when they rotate.

AUDIO

  • Thunder will now play more up-close variations as you get closer to the shocknado on Cape Fury and distant ones when you’re further away.
  • Added polish to various Drask sound effects such as its footsteps and tail swipes.

BUG FIXES

GAMEPLAY

  • Fixed a bug where actions that would spend stamina to reduce the chilled status were not working when Cascade’s buff was active.
  • Fixed a bug where the Grace perk would override existing attack speed buffs after sprinting.
  • Fixed a bug where the player’s model would turn invisible during an attack.
  • Fixed a bug where players would go down immediately after being revived.

ESCALATION

  • Fixed a bug where players could fall endlessly in Escalation. AHHHHHHHHHH—

COSMETICS

  • Addressed major cloth physics issues for the most recent hunt pass and reward cache armour skins.
  • Climbing Grips armour skin no longer makes players’ fingers invisible.

QUESTS

  • Fixed a bug where the Timeweave Vambraces (II) rumour was not tracking the objective: Deal 500K Core damage to The Chronovore while using Timeweave Gauntlets.
  • Heroic Escalations now properly count toward challenges that ask you to complete Escalations of a particular element.

NAYZAGA

  • Improved Nayzaga’s hitboxes so they are more accurate when taking wound and part damage.

RIFTSTALKER

  • Fixed a bug where the player’s transition into the Riftstalker murder palace wasn’t smooth. Now your trip to the murder palace is as pleasant as possible.

REZAKIRI

  • Fixed a bug that caused Rezakiri to shoot lasers after it was slain.

SKARN

  • Fixed a bug where Deepfrost Skarn would stay underground for too long.

STORMCLAW

  • Fixed a bug where its shock orbs would go through Stormclaw if they were reflected within a short distance.

EMBERMANE

  • Deepfrost Embermane now has the correct rage visual effect.

THE CHRONOVORE

  • Fixed a bug where the Behemoth that is consumed during Chronovore’s entrance would float above ground while unburrowing. No more wild flapping!

AGARUS

  • Improved performance during moves with lots of visual effects.

THRAX

  • Improved performance during moves with lots of visual effects.

UI

  • Removed the Iceborne cell from the game entirely. Rest in peace.
  • The Paradox Breaks now displays the proper level recommendation (16-19).
  • Fixed a bug where the Trials’ end of hunt screen wasn’t displaying the times.
  • Fixed a bug where the “Bounties Available” widget was active even though all four bounties were active.
  • Being in the personality menu when the airship countdown ends no longer breaks the camera.
  • Fixed a bug where players couldn’t claim the final reward from the Chronoslayer Event Pass.
  • Fixed a bug that significantly slowed results from our progression service. This caused slow down when drafting bounties, completing bounties, and turning in quests.
  • Removed last season’s gatherable icon from the level up and unclaimed rewards summary screen.
  • The Hunting Grounds’ nodes in the Slayer’s Path now show the correct Behemoths.
  • Omnicell descriptions now properly fit in the tooltip.
  • Fixed typos in Koshai’s journal entry.
  • Hinterwings Glider in the store now has a name in the inventory.
  • Removed Shrike from appearing in the possible Behemoth list for Snowblind Wastes in the Hunting Grounds.
  • Fixed a bug where the Reward Cache was showing the Hidden Blades armour set.
  • Weapons no longer display the wrong element icons.
  • Fixed a bug where the vista images in the journal were blurry.

CAPE FURY

  • Fixed unintentional lines in the environment, and instances of rocks or flowers floating off the ground.
  • Changed grass coverage to better accommodate AoE rings.
  • Smoothed blending between sands and rocks.
  • Addressed trees that bent strangely when affected by wind.
  • Fixed spots players could fall through.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Fixed a bug where repeaters, aether strikers, and chain blades would stay attached to players’ hands for certain animations when they shouldn’t have.
  • Fixed a bug where the potion visual effects would not be removed if a player’s consume animation was interrupted.
  • Fixed various bugs where equipment would not attach correctly to body style 2 in the inventory menu’s preview.
  • Fixed a bug where players could get stuck behind Xelya’s treehouse.

OMNICELLS

1.7.0 marks the launch of omnicells, new craftable gear that provide a wide range of build options to let you strategize around your preferred playstyle, as well as plan for specific encounters. Experiment to find the playstyle that best suits you!

  • Added the Nayzaga Rockstar Dye Rumour.
  • Added the Timeweave Quadhammer Rumour.
  • Added the Timeweave Vambraces Rumour.
STORE
  • Added the Ostian Commander-General armour set.
  • Added the Admiral Zai Emoji Pack.
  • Added the Wils Bormen Emoji Pack.
  • Added the Hinterwings Glider.
  • Added the Dustwalker Armour set.
  • Added the Timeshifted Weapon set.
  • Added the Relentless Dye.

OMNICELL MIGRATION
  • If you had any Iceborne cells, you will receive the Iceborne omnicell.
  • If you had a Discipline cell, you will receive the Discipline omnicell and 150 Steel Marks for any additional Discipline cells owned.
  • If you had any Tenacious cells, you will receive Galvanized cells of the same rarity.
  • Dark Watch (Shrowd helm), Boreal Might (Boreus gauntlets), Boreal March (Boreus boots), Volcanic Treads (Charrogg boots), and Skraevwing Gloves (Skraev gauntlets) will each grant 1 aetherheart and 10,000 rams if owned and power surged.

BALANCE

PERKS
  • Rage: Once every 50 / 40 / 30 / 25 / 20 / 15 seconds, when you take damage, deal +20% increased damage for 15 seconds.
  • Overpower: +10 / 15 / 20 / 30 / 35 / 40% increased damage vs staggered Behemoths.
  • Evasive Fury: After dodging through an attack, gain +4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12.5 / 15% attack speed for 20 seconds.
  • Wild Frenzy is now Assassin’s Frenzy: Each time you break or assist in breaking a part, gain +15% attack speed for 10 / 15 / 20 / 30 / 35 / 40 seconds.
  • Aetheric Frenzy is now a technique cell called Aetheric Evasion: On dodging through an attack, reduce the cooldown of your lantern ability by 5 / 10 / 15 / 25 / 30 / 35%.
  • Lucent: Your flask heals over 20 seconds, but for 20% more healing – while this heal is active, increase the recharge rate of your lantern ability by 15 / 25 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50%.
  • Grace: Ranks 4 through 6 now grant attack speed equal to half the move speed increase, for 40 seconds.
  • Aetheric Attunement: Reduces the cooldown of your lantern ability by 10 / 15 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50%.
  • Aetherborne: Using aethervents at ranks 4 through 6 will cause you to enter aether rush.
  • Guardian: +5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30% of shields applied to you are also applied to your nearest ally for 15 seconds.
  • Fortress: After not taking damage for 10 seconds, gain shields of 65 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 / 135. Stacks 3 times.
  • Zeal effect text updated to show that it affects lantern abilities.
  • Removed the Tenacious effect that increased critical strike chance at higher ranks.
ARMOUR
  • Dark Watch (Shrowd helm) now has the Cunning perk.
  • Skraevwing Gloves (Skraev gauntlets) now have the Aetheric Evasion perk.
  • Boreal Might (Boreus gauntlets), Boreal March (Boreus boots), and Volcanic Treads (Charrogg boots) now have the Tenacious perk.
GAMEPLAY
  • Skarn weapons’ unique effect now grants a stackable 175 / 250 shield that lasts for 25 seconds (max 600 shields) after using your Lantern ability.
  • Valomyr weapons’ unique effect damage increased to 550 / 700.

The low-life builds with Wild Frenzy have dominated the meta for a really long time. Many players feel like this is the new standard for Dauntless. Outright removing Wild Frenzy and making other attack speed buffs conditional would have a major impact on the feel of the game. After some careful reflection, we’ve decided to increase the default attack speed on all weapons to give all players a higher baseline that matches the fast paced nature of modern Dauntless. We’ve also done a pass over all other attack speed bonuses to create a more consistent experience and added a new cap to attack speed to prevent extreme scenarios that introduce bugs.

  • Hammer and axe attack speed increased by 12%.
  • Sword, war pike, and repeaters attack speed increased by 10%.
  • Chain blades and aether strikers attack speed increased by 8%.
  • Attack speed from all other sources is now capped at +50%.
AETHER STRIKERS
  • Tempest Form attack speed bonus reduced to +15%.
AXE
  • The axe’s Vertical Ripper repeatable combo finisher attacks are now affected by attack speed perks (up to a limit of +105%).
SWORD
  • Increased Ardent Cyclone’s base damage per hit from 70 to 80.
  • Doubled the Ardent Cyclone’s bonus damage on its finisher.
  • Removed all meter gain while performing Ardent Cyclone.
HAMMER
  • Molten Edict damage from fireball shots reduced by 33%.
  • Molten Edict damage from ground fireball reduced by 25%.
LANTERNS
  • Using an aether vent now reduces your lantern ability cooldown by 20%.
  • Aether wisps now reduce your lantern ability cooldown by 10%.
  • Lanterns no longer have tap abilities and have been replaced with omnicells active abilities.
  • Shrikes Zeal’s buff no longer stacks with other active Shrike lantern buffs.
  • Spiteful Onslaught now triggers on lantern hold instead of on tap.
  • Aetherdrive Tonic now increases the recharge rate of your lantern’s ability by 100% for 60 seconds.
HUNTING GROUNDS
  • Elder and Primal Behemoths have been removed from all Hunting Grounds islands except for Paradox Breaks.
  • Paradox Breaks’ minimum level increased from 13 to 14, and the recommended level increased from 17 to 18.

The Hunting Grounds was designed to be a social experience that promotes drop-in, drop-out gameplay with other Slayers. After evaluating the data on how players engage with each other in this mode, and after listening to player feedback, we’ve decided that the danger meter wasn’t living up to our original design goals. In the end, it was causing too much friction when playing with others. This change will maintain the failure case on encounters while removing the pain points associated with other slayers going down around you.

  • The Danger Meter in the Hunting Grounds no longer increases when a Slayer is downed.
  • The Danger Meter in Hunting Grounds does not increase faster while Slayers are downed.
  • The Danger Meter in Hunting Grounds does not decrease when a Slayer is revived.
  • Raised the rate of Danger Meter increase in the Hunting Grounds.
DRASK
  • Drask’s head no longer deals damage during the tail swipe attack.
SKRAEV
  • Increased the time between blizzards when fighting Winterhorn Skraev.
STORMCLAW
  • Reduced health on Stormclaw’s shock fences so they’re easier to destroy.
MISCELLANEOUS
  • Removed the Past and Future Talent Trees.
  • Added shiny new icons for Dauntless on consoles.

QUALITY OF LIFE

GAMEPLAY
  • Gruk-gruks and styxians now properly respect the territory of Behemoths, and will not engage with Slayers in melee with them. But as always, they will be waiting for their moment, lurking from the shadows…
  • Shields visual and sound effects now only play for 3 seconds when shields are applied, instead of persistently as long as you have shields.
DRASK
  • Added a new death animation.
  • Added new stagger animations.
  • Lowered the intro roar sound effect.
UI
  • Players can now dye and transmog their armour during matchmaking.
  • Lucky Break menu now focuses on the last item purchased from Lady Luck after purchasing an item.
  • Menu now focuses on the closest item next to the last purchased item on the Store screen after purchasing an item.
QUESTS
  • Behemoths will not drop parts that are no longer used.
  • Dye rumours will no longer require Aetheric Crownplates and will instead require the Epic part from the target Behemoth.
HUNTING GROUNDS
  • Added various alternate versions of out of combat music to the Hunting Grounds.
COSMETICS
  • Fixed some emotes that would not be canceled when walking.

MALKARION
  • Malkarion’s lightning projectiles now have audio.
STORMCLAW
  • Addressed an issue where Stormclaw would walk slowly before going into their pounce attack.
GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed an issue where Elder Behemoth shields would remain visible while Behemoths were invisible or teleporting.
  • Fixed an issue where Elder Behemoth shields would be invisible.
  • Splitting Lava and Splitting Umbral attacks will now reliably break on Behemoths, and no longer move through them.
  • Addressed an issue where other Slayers would be invisible on hunts.
  • Fixed an issue where Slayers would be left standing after being knocked down.
  • Fixed an issue where Malkarion’s legendary ability would add 4 stacks of Pulse in a single hit.

QUESTS

  • Addressed an issue where using Blitz and Frenzy tonics was not progressing quests.

HUNTING GROUNDS

  • The paradoxicon in the Chronovore’s arena now properly rises from the ground and no longer gets stuck.

UI

  • The Chronovore’s escape message will no longer show up far before it actually escapes.
  • The Chronoslayer Event Pass notifications will go away for those who have completed and collected its rewards.
  • Addressed an issue where the “Claim Rewards” notification would show when there were no rewards to claim.
  • Fixed an incorrect tooltip for the Captain’s Grip. It now correctly reflects that the attack speed increase is 15%.
  • Players using controllers can now unlock items in the Reward Cache while on the Hunting Grounds.
  • Addressed an issue where players would not be notified they received charged aether instead of a Behemoth part break during Escalation hunts.
  • Cores will now display the correct rarities.
  • Events and encounters you are taking part in will no longer appear on the compass for you.
  • Addressed an issue where party members’ health bars were the wrong size.
  • Fixed a missing unlock message when viewing gliders in the personality screen before they’ve been unlocked in the Slayer’s Path.
  • Addressed an issue where keystone Behemoth roars were not playing in the mastery screen or crafting menus.
  • The “Quests, Bounties, & Challenges” button text now fits properly inside the button in all languages.
  • Head accessory preview is now kept or removed correctly upon closing the head accessory menu.
  • Holding down the “Play!” button won’t cause the button sound effect to repeat.
  • Addressed an issue where the Hunt Pass achievement on Xbox would not unlock if it was already completed.

What is new in Dauntless 1.59 (1.6.5)?

EXOTICS RETURNUnlock six of Dauntless’ existing exotic items by uncovering stories long thought lost. Each of the six new lore nodes scattered throughout the Hunting Grounds unlock a quest to forge a specific piece of exotic gear. Feel the Hunger!

CONUNDRUM ROCKSA new island variant has been added to the Hunting Grounds! Conundrum Rocks is a level 10-13 version of Paradox Breaks, with Valomyr as its guaranteed Behemoth.

TIMEWEAVE ARMOUR1.6.5 marks the launch of the new Timeweave set, a powerful collection of gameplay armour that offers Overpower, Predator, and Catalyst perks.
Unlock the schematics for the Timeweave armour set by seeking out a new lore node on the Paradox Breaks.

EXOTIC CHANGES

  • Increased the damage of Molten Edict’s fireball attack by 50%.
  • Molten Edict now has 1 Power Cell slot, 1 Prismatic Cell slot, and the Berserker perk.
  • Twin Suns now have 1 Technique Cell slot, 1 Prismatic Cell slot, and the Evasive Fury perk.
  • The Godhand now has 1 Power Cell slot, 1 Prismatic Cell slot, and the Savagery perk.
  • The Hunger now has 1 Power Cell slot, 1 Prismatic Cell slot, and the Ragehunter perk.
  • The Skullforge now has the Molten perk.
  • Prismatic Grace now has the Medic perk.
  • Tragic Echo now has the Rage perk.

SWORD

If you run Energized +6 with Adrent Cyclone in 1.6.4, you can stay in that special for 20 to 30 seconds in an unstaggerable state. Dauntless is a game about skillful decision making and timing. This combination of abilities broke that design principle. It’s okay to bend the rules a bit with special abilities, but this was breaking our design entirely. This is an initial step towards removing Ardent Cyclone meter gain in 1.7.0.

  • Reduced the amount of Ardent Cyclone meter gained while using Energized by 85%.

HUNTING GROUNDS

  • The guaranteed Behemoth on Brightwood is now Flameborn Quillshot (was Valomyr).
  • The guaranteed Behemoth on Razorcliff Isle is now Rezakiri (was Deepfrost Embermane).
  • The guaranteed Behemoth on Paradox Breaks is now Flameborn Rezakiri (was Rezakiri).
  • Removed Moonreaver Shrike from Razorcliff Isle.

AGARUS

  • Added a window of invulnerability during the revival animation of Agarus weapons’ legendary ability.
  • Reduced the number of Ruptured Stalks required for crafting Agarus’ weapons from 15 to 7.

EMBERMANE

  • Changed Deepfrost Embermane’s roll attack to be more accurate, only causing AoE damage on impact of the first hit.

GNASHER

  • Improved the collision and hitboxes during Deepfrost Gnasher’s dive and slam moves.

REZAKIRI

  • Changed Flameborn Rezakiri’s tail sweep attack so the second sweep won’t hit Slayers who successfully dodged the first.

THE CHRONOVORE

  • Increased the time it takes to be knocked off during certain moves when mounted.
  • The Chronovore gear now correctly requires 4 Timeworn Tentacles to craft.

QUALITY OF LIFE

SKRAEV

  • Reduced the opacity on Skraev’s blizzard VFX.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Consumables can now be swapped while queued for a hunt.

BUG FIXES

AXE

  • Fixed an issue where charged axe attacks would sometimes end without completing an attack.

COSMETICS

  • Fixed a bug where certain armours could not access the secondary dye channel.
  • Fixed a bug where lantern effects would stay visible and stack up after switching in the loadout screen.
  • Fixed a bug where using a jump vent right after changing your character’s skin tone would revert the change.
  • Fixed a bug where players could spawn in the ground when using the “Brave and the Boulder” arrival.
  • Changed the Chronovore armour’s footprint effect to the proper dye channel.

HUNTING GROUNDS

  • Fixed an issue allowing players to keep interacting with respawned Primal Suppressors.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Fixed an issue where red crystals were in the wrong locations in Blaze Escalation.

QUESTS

  • Removed “consume ironhide pylons” as a quest objective as the functionality wasn’t working consistently.

  • Fixed a bug where loot would incrementally stack in the loot summary screen when completing multiple events in a row in the Hunting Grounds.
  • Fixed a bug where some players would not see any daily challenges available.
  • Fixed a bug where item amounts would not update immediately after crafting tonics.
  • Fixed a bug where notification icons would appear on Bounties and Challenges when they shouldn’t.

Dauntless update 1.57 patch notes released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC players. According to the official Dauntless 1.57 patch notes, the latest update quality of life change. Apart from this, Dauntless version 1.57 also includes various stability fixes.

Dauntless update 1.6.4 (v1.56) patch notes released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC players. According to the official Dauntless 1.64 patch notes, the latest update updated Journal Entries and added bug fixes. What is new in Dauntless 1.6.4?

LORE

  • Updated Arkan Drew and the Middleman’s journal entries to reflect recent information regarding their past and future origins.

BALANCE

GAMEPLAY

  • Blitz Tonic now grants a flat +15% attack speed. It was previously a range of +10–30% based on health missing.

SWORD

  • The sword’s Ardent Cyclone special now spins at a fixed rate, regardless of attack speed perks and buffs.

QUALITY OF LIFE

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Players can now make Reward Cache purchases while in the Hunting Grounds.

BUG FIXES

GAMEPLAY

  • Fixed an issue where dodging through Cascade perk pickups would sometimes count as a perfect dodge. It was far from perfect.
  • Attacks that cannot be critical strikes, such as hits from grenades, will no longer remove the guaranteed critical strike buff granted by the Pulse perk.

CHAIN BLADES

  • Players will no longer be invulnerable after stopping a Chain Push combo. Before, one second of invulnerability carried over if the Chain Push was cut off with a light or heavy attack.
  • Fixed an issue where Chain Push attacks would get stuck on the ground if triggered during a dodge.

WAR PIKE

  • Fixed an issue where high attack speed builds would temporarily stop dealing damage during the war pike’s Piercing Flurry combo.
  • The Piercing Flurry combo hold finisher now always performs the same number of attacks, regardless of attack speed buffs.

THE CHRONOVORE

  • The Chronovore’s eyes now glow when enraged. You won’t like them when they’re angry.
  • Polished the Chronovore’s flight animations for smoother transitions.
  • Expanded the Chronovore’s hitboxes to make sure its wings are hittable.

VALOMYR

  • Fixed a bug where Valomyr sound effects continued to play after their defeat.

HUNTING GROUNDS

  • Fixed various invisible collisions and clipping issues in the Paradox Breaks.
  • Fixed a bug where the proper music was not playing in the Hunting Grounds.

ESCALATION

  • Fixed a bug where encounters’ outro music would play prematurely.

PERFORMANCE

  • Reduced out-of-memory crashes across all platforms.
  • Reduced hitching across all platforms.
  • Improved performance on Nintendo Switch to reduce crashes.

UI

  • Changed references of “critical hit” to “critical strike” in the Pulse perk’s text.
  • Reckless Leap’s move list entry now has the correct interrupt icon.
  • The DPS meter in the Training Grounds will now be visible to all players. For real this time.
  • Added the correct quest icon to the Unbreakable Dye quest on Frostmarch.
  • Fixed bug where the Chronoslayer Event Pass was not showing the correct XP values.

COSMETICS

  • Improved the Death’s Reliquary and Chronovore armours to reduce clipping when mixing and matching pieces with other armour sets.
