Battlefield 2042 Update 1.29 is rolling out on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official BF2042 1.29 patch notes, the latest update brings minor fixes and changes. Apart from this, today’s Battlefield 2042 version 1.29 (1.000.032) also includes stability and performance improvements.

Battlefield 2042 update 4.0 (BF2042 Update 1.28) is available on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official BF2042 1.28 patch notes, the latest BF2042 Season 4 update adds a new map(Flashpoint), a new specialist: Camila Blasco, a new vehicle: CAV-Brawler and more. BF2042 1.28 Patch Notes (Season 4) – February 28, 2023

New Map: Flashpoint
Head towards The Richtersveld, an arid, rocky South African battlefield where the conflict is about to get up-close and personal with our latest location, Flashpoint.

New Specialist: Camila “Blasco”
Our final Specialist enters the fray with Season 4: Eleventh Hour.

Specialty – X6-Infiltration Device – Placing this device on the ground creates a dead zone in the immediate area, interfering with enemy spotting technology and preventing lock-ons from hostile rocket ordnance. This handy device will also spot and reveal enemy devices within the immediate dead zone range, allowing you to quickly clean out any enemy interference around your objective.

Trait – Ambush Expert – Utilizing her reconnaissance training, Blasco is able to move swiftly past motion-based Gadgets such as Claymores, T-UGS, or Proximity Sensors and larger equipment like Boris’ SG-36 Sentry Gun.

New Vehicle: CAV-Brawler
The CAV-Brawler is a IFV-type vehicle that is capable of traversing through small spaces while providing ample protection for your squadmates within it.

Along with its high maneuverability, the main purpose of this vehicle is as a squad spawner, as it easily navigates through the battlefield towards control points and objectives, your squad has the ability to spawn on this vehicle and actively join you in the push.

New Weapons: AC9 SMG, RM68 Assault Rifle, RPT-31 LMG and Super 500 Shotgun

Season 4: Eleventh Hour offers an array of weaponry capable of tackling any scenario you may come across as you battle it out on the rocky, industrial areas of Flashpoint.

 

AC9 SMG
An extremely lightweight submachine gun that is well-crafted for fast hipfire exchanges. With its improved receiver ergonomics this ambidextrous small submachine gun is more controllable than its high rate of fire would have you believe.

RM68 Assault Rifle
Perfect for close-quarter battles of Flashpoint, the RM68 is a next-gen assault rifle with a distinct and suppressive design. The built-in silencer offers counter-weight for improved stability and recoil control. Take full advantage of the integrated canted sights to adapt to every situation in front of you.

RPT-31 LMG
If an SMG or Assault Rifle isn’t your cup of tea when it comes to weaponry, then the new RPT-31 prototype LMG might be what you’re looking for. While it has a low rate-of-fire, the rounds are heavy hitting with a high bullet speed. This LMG also comes with a new “flip-scope” attachment that allows you to tackle encounters as you see fit.

 

Super 500 Shotgun
Destined to become a favorite with Recon Specialists – this high risk and high reward sidearm shotgun is perfect for short range encounters. Select this weapon for your sidearm slot and you’ll quickly find yourself dominating the battlefield as you breach those objectives.

 

 

New Gadget: SPH Explosive Launcher

If you’re looking for something more explosive, the SPH Explosive Launcher fires a sticky payload capable of attaching to players, vehicles and just about any other surface on the battlefield that will detonate after a short delay. Ideal for both destruction and anti-infantry play.

The SPH Explosive Launcher becomes available for the Assault Class as a selectable gadget and shoots up to two projectiles that are housed inside on casing before needing to reload.

 

New Vault Weapons: SVD and Type-88 LMG

Two iconic weapons from classic eras of old become available as Vault Weapons in the All-Out Warfare arsenal.

Battlefield 3 – SVD

The infamous SVD is a squad support weapon that juxtaposes long range with rapid and accurate semi-automatic fire.

Unlock Criteria:

  • 100 Kills and Assists with the SVD (Portal) or SVK
  • 50 Kills with Marksman Rifles at a distance of 100m or less

Battlefield 3 – Type-88 LMG

If you’re wanting even more bullets at your disposal, the Type-88 LMG is a light machine gun with a 200-round magazine strapped to it.

Unlock Criteria:

  • 100 Kills and Assists with the Type 88 LMG (Portal) or M240B
  • 10000 Damage Inflicted with LMGs

CHANGELOG

General Improvements

  • The End of Round sequence now explains what will happen after this transition phase. For example, if you switch sides if you stay in the lobby. You’ll now also be presented with a prompt to confirm if you’d like to exit – this will help reduce accidental quitting to the main menu.
  • Fixed issue where reaching Extraction Streak 3 in Hazard Zone with Crawford and Zain wouldn’t unlock the Risk Worth Taking Player Card Background
  • Fixed an issue that would cause vehicle icons to flicker while the big map was open.
  • Increasing the size of the minimap will no longer also increase the size of the icons.
  • Added an option to allow customization of the scale of the minimap icons.
  • Added an option for the scale of the minimap icons to scale with the view distance of the minimap (Enabled by Default).
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the visuals of a ping to display incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue where the base circle VFX on a location ping was sometimes missing.

Battlefield Portal

  • Portal – Battlefield 3 – Fixed an issue with the SMAW / RPG-7V2 where the rocket was deflected into the ground when the user was shooting into a fence.
  • Portal – Battlefield 3 – Fixed an issue where the SFX for detonation was not functioning properly when using a C4 remote detonation.
  • Custom Portal experiences that have PvP AI (but not PvE) and no other change than to the map list will have Ribbons XP enabled, Mastery Progression up to Tier 12 and Weekly Missions enabled instead of the usual Restricted XP.

 

Maps

Breakaway

  • The Penguins have filled in a hole near B1 where players were unable to get out of if they had fallen victim to it. Pesky penguins.
  • Fixed a visual issue with the billowing smoke from the two silos near the waste pools.

Kaleidoscope

  • Fixed an issue where sector lines between Sectors D and C were overlapping while playing Conquest.

Stranded

  • Fixed an issue where players were sometimes spawned within a container on FFA and Gun Master FFA modes.
  • Fixed an issue where the cinematic camera during the intro would sometimes behave incorrectly on Conquest.

Spearhead

  • Fixed an issue while playing Conquest Assault where a player was spawned OOB when trying to deploy on the “A” Capture Point.

 

 

Soldier

  • Improved the consistency of Melee takedowns for standing and crouching soldiers.
  • Improved prone behavior on steep slopes.
  • Improved zipline behavior when a vehicle was parked near the same location as the zipline.
  • Fixed an issue which would sometimes cause the camera to become stuck while using a ladder.
  • Fixed an issue which was causing audio to play from the wrong direction while in a downed state.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the icon of selected weapons to disappear when climbing a ladder.

 

Specialists

Casper

  • Fixed an issue that caused Casper’s OVP-Recon Drone to be able to destroy certain map objects it wasn’t intended to.

Crawford

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in no health bar being present while repairing Boris’ Sentry Gun and Ranger whilst playing as Crawford.

Dozer

  • Fixed an issue that caused the throwing knife to generate a ricochet bullet when hitting Dozer’s Ballistic Shield

Falck

  • Fixed an issue that caused shockwaves from explosions to interrupt Falck’s self-heal interaction.

Lis

  • Reduced the maximum range of Lis’ G-84 TGM from 600m to 475m.
  • Reduced the boost speed of Lis’ G-84 TGM from 150m/s to 110m/s.
  • Tightened the turning angles of Lis’ G-84 TGM.
  • Adjusted the input clamping when boosting with G-84 TGM in accordance to the new turning angles.
  • Reduced the acceleration modifier when boosting with Lis G-84 TGM from 1.85x force to 1.15x force.

Dev Comment: With these adjustments we’re looking to push Lis into having a higher skill ceiling (more skill required to master) and also ease up on the vehicle player experience.

The turning adjustments introduced in this update will make it so the missile will be less agile, hindering its ability greatly to double-back on itself after an initial miss

The boost acceleration & speed reductions will now enable vehicle players more of a chance to react to an inbound missile.

Also we want players to have a clear target they wish to attack with the TGM before it has been fired which we saw was not the case in update 3.2.1, these turning changes combined with the boost acceleration, speed and max range reductions are targeted to address this.

Paik

  • Fixed an issue that caused Paik to be unable to use her EMG-X Scanner in passenger seats

Zain

  • Fixed an issue where the sound which would play when updating the airburst distance from Zains’ XM370A Airburst Rifle was being triggered in instances where it shouldn’t.

 

Gadgets

  • Fixed an issue where the EMP Grenade did not disable some vehicular weaponry or trigger any visual VFX as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where some Gadgets were able to hit enemy soldiers through autonomous gates
  • Fixed an issue where using the T-UGS would cause unwanted screenshake.
  • Fixed an issue where the SFX for the detonation remote on C5 would not play properly.
  • The Assault will now be able to carry a maximum of two Med Pens. Upon spawn, you will still have one available to you.
  • Fixed an issue with the M18 Claymore so that it has a forward facing explosion exclusively.
  • The M18 Claymore will no longer be capable of destroying building walls, this is to bring it more in line with its intent
  • Adjusted the AT Mine so that it blends into the terrain better.
  • Fixed issue where damaging a player-operated Mounted Vulcan would result in receiving Vehicle Assist XP when a teammate destroyed it
  • Location pings will no longer display when pinging a neutral Mounted Vulcan.

 

Vehicles

  • Fixed an issue where Air Radar was present while the minimap is disabled.
  • Updated the crosshair for the UAV-1 Drone.
  • Fixed an issue with the Active Protection System on vehicles that would sometimes cause VFX to apply twice on successful interception.
  • Fixed an issue where vehicle wheels would sometimes move while in an elevator.
  • Fixed an issue that caused both crosshairs on the M5C Bolte to show hit markers when the missiles were equipped.
  • Updated the rangefinder in vehicles to go to 100+ instead of 200+
  • Using a knife on a light vehicle now has a reduced impact, we’ve previously stated that we haven’t invented adamantium for knives and that is still the case.
  • Fixed an issue which would sometimes cause tracers to spawn offset while firing the Canister Pod on vehicles.
  • Enabled threat detection system audio cue for passengers in EMKV90-TOR as intended.
  • While piloting or driving a vehicle, lock-on sounds will no longer play for any passengers.
  • APS will no longer remain active after a vehicle has been hacked.
  • Brake lights on vehicles have had their brightness toned down while on Stranded.

Aircraft specific

  • Made lift and drag improvements on the aileron and elevator areas of Jet Aircraft to allow for smoother pitching.
  • Improved pitch down to now turn faster than pitching up as intended.
  • VTOL mode will now correctly activate and deactivate for the F35 and Condor
  • Made adjustments to the F35 turning rate to be more in line, and in competition against the SU-57 Felon.

 

Weapons

  • Fixed a visual issue that was present on the PKS-07 scope while ADS’ing.
  • Fixed an issue where using a Bipod against any surface would decrease dispersion by 40% instead of the intended 20%.
  • Fixed an issue where weapon stats were sometimes showing up in both the pros and cons fields within the collection menu.

AC-42

  • The AC-42 will no longer clip through the screen when opening the Plus Menu.

MTAR-21

  • Fixed an issue where the MTAR-21 had the incorrect headshot multiplier.
  • The MTAR-21 heavy barrel attachment now affects recoil, dispersion, bullet velocity and ROF.
  • Fixed issue where the MTAR-21 didn’t display Burst as an available fire mode in the weapon details.

M416

  • Fixed an issue where the M416 had the incorrect headshot multiplier.

NVK-22

  • NVK-22 no longer has a broken reload animation while supplying.
  • NVK-22 will no longer shoot 2 times if holding the fire button during the reload animation.

XM8 LMG

  • The XM8 LMG now has the correct magazine count.

Changelog

Gadgets

FGM-148 Javelin

  • The FGM-148 Javelin can no longer lock onto the Tracer Dart while the dart is out of line of sight.

Tracer Dart Gun

  • The Tracer Dart will now correctly drop in height dependent on the distance it has to travel.
  • Reduced the projectile speed of the Tracer Dart from 500 m/s to 250 m/s.
  • The uptime of the Tracer Dart will now last 12 seconds instead of 40 seconds.
    • Dev Comment: We’ve adjusted the trajectory and speed of the Tracer Dart to now offer a skill element to this gadget if you’re aiming to land shots from long range distances, if you wish to reliably designate targets from long distance the SOFLAM remains a tried and tested choice.

Gameplay Flow & Social Elements

  • Unlock Descriptions will now correctly show for Class Badges on the reward screen after a match.
  •  The description for Falck’s Combat Surgeon Trait now correctly states that she is able to revive faster, rather than revive to full health.

Soldier

  • Fixed an issue where the time it took for firing when leaving sprint was much longer than expected with Assault Rifles.
  • Fixed an issue where the auto deploy of the parachute did not function properly.
  • The Assault Weapon Proficiency will no longer grant extra ammunition for Underbarrel Grenade Launchers.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause projectiles to not deal damage correctly when Specialists are facing down.
  • Fixed a minor desync issue that resulted in the player jumping in a slightly longer arch than expected. Don’t be alarmed, we didn’t put any springs in your boots!

Specialists

Angel

  • Fixed an issue that would allow players to select any Gadget with any Specialist via Angel’s Loadout Crate.

Crawford – Mounted Vulcan

  • Increased the health of Crawford’s Mounted Vulcan by 60%
    • Dev Comment: This change is to increase the survivability when up against direct gunfire. Grenades and Rocket Launchers will still cause it considerable damage.
  • Mounted Vulcan now lasts 7 seconds from the moment it begins firing to reaching its overheating point.
  • Players are no longer able to place down 4 Mounted Vulcans. One is enough!

Dozer

  • You can no longer use Dozer’s SOB-8 Ballistic Shield while also using a parachute, or whilst prone.

Weapons

As part of the recent Update 3.2 we reduced the ADS time for Drum and Extended Magazines. We’re reverting that change in this update.

Your feedback to change these attachments suggested having slower reload times, or less overall ammo due to the reduced magazine count. These are very valid areas to look at, however we believe those two would not compensate for the greater increase in combat uptime that these attachments give you.

With a shorter magazine, you have to pick your fights while weaving in and out of combat against multiple enemies, prioritizing targets based on awareness or proximity. With larger magazines, such as the case with Drum and Extended Magazines, this overhead disappears as you have the luxury of less reloading and more ammo availability.

It’s very important for us to act upon your feedback, and we’ll continue to make adjustments for Drum and Extended Magazines in a later update.

Drum and Extended Magazines

  • ADS draw rate has been reverted to pre-update 3.2 values. You’ll now notice that the draw rate is more immediate, and less weighted than before.

MTAR-21

  • Adjusted the recoil of the MTAR-21 to be in line with other Assault Rifle weaponry.
  • MTAR-21 damage increased up to 40m from 18 -> 22

PP-2000

  • PP-2000 damage increased up to 50m from 22 -> 28

Modifiers

  • Added 2 new modifiers for disabling 2042 era Gadget and Throwable restrictions. This makes it possible for 2042 era Classes to equip any non-Class Gadget if you enjoyed this playstyle. This change does allow access to Class Gadgets, which are moved to a separate slot.
  • Added WeaponProficiencies to the Gadget Restrictions part of the Battlefield Portal website.
  • Added the Proximity Sensor to the OpenGadget selection list and deprecated it in the Throwables selection list.

Rules Editor

  • Fixed an issue where Crawford was appearing with the wrong name in the Rules Editor
  • Added a new InventoryClassGadgets selection list block that allows you to access Gadgets from the new Class Gadget slot. The Class Gadgets that were previously in the InventoryOpenGadget selection list have been removed.

Gadgets

  • Fixed an issue where two Grenade trails can be seen after throwing one Grenade
  • Added multiple gadgets from portal into the hands of our 2042 Specialists:
    • EOD Bot, Tracer Dart Gun, M18 Claymore, FGM-148 Javelin & T-UGS.
  • Moved the Repair Tool, Insertion Beacon, Defibs and Medpen Gadgets to the new Class Gadget slot.
  • Manually equipped defibrillator revive range (and damage) increased to match the range for interaction revives.
  • Fixed an issue where SFX and VFX would appear incorrectly when a grenade is thrown through trees and bushes.
  • Fixed issues with Throwing knife dealing no damage if the thrower is killed, significantly reducing the likelihood of it happening.
  • Fixed a visual issue where the sparks when repairing the Nightbird with the repair tool, would appear at a distance from the vehicle .
  • Fixed an issue with Throwing Knife disappears when throwing them at trees.

Ammo Crate

  • Insertion beacons now get resupplied by Ammo Crates.
  • The Ammo Crate can now resupply the Tracer Dart & M18 Claymore.

C5

  • Fixed an issue where C5 was not always displayed to other players.

EOD Bot

  • Adjusted the EOD Bot’s collision to fix an issue where the gadget’s arm would poke through walls.
  • Updated the game hints on the EOD Bot for both when holding the gadget and controlling it.
  • Updated the acceleration and turning angles of the EOD Bot to be more responsive.
  • Lowered EOD Bot’s health from 400 to 300.
  • Added an impulse modification to the EOD Bot so that when it gets shot with bullets it doesn’t push the EOD Bot around.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the EOD Bot to blow up when gently ramming a tank.

FGM-148 Javelin

  • Updated the first person screen and crosshair of the FGM-148 Javelin, it also showcases more info about the gadget and its current mode.
  • Reduced the reload duration of the FGM-148 Javelin by 10%.
  • Reduced the damage of the FGM-148 Javelin to most tanks and aircraft when in Direct Attack mode (top-down attack remains unchanged).
  • The FGM-148 Javelin now has longer lock forgiveness and has had its max range extended from 250m to 450m.
  • Added a contextual game hint for when in hipfire and when zooming with the FGM-148 Javelin.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed the FGM-148 Javelin to be fired in hipfire.
  • Fixed an issue that prevent the FGM-148 Javelin from using its top-down attack.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the FGM-148 Javelin Direct Attack to miss its target if it locked too close.
  • Adjusted the trajectory of the top-down FGM-148 Javelin attack to be more akin to the real behavior.
  • Added tooltip in the HUD to help you learn how to use the FGM-148 Javelin.
  • The FGM-148 Javelin can now lock-on-to empty vehicles.

FXM-33 AA Missile

  • Increased acceleration and top speed of the projectile slightly.
  • Added a contextual game hint for when in hipfire and when zooming.
  • The FXM-33 AA Missile can now lock on-to empty vehicles

Insertion Beacon

  • The Insertion Beacon can now only be spawned upon 4 times before self-destructing
  • The Insertion Beacon no longer self-destructs if the owner spawns on it.
  • Fixed issues with not being able to spawn on Insertion Beacon that are put in tight places.

M18 Claymore

  • Updated the M18 Claymore in-world icon to use the same one as in menus.
  • The M18 Claymore is now using the same deploy flow as the Insertion Beacon & Irish’s construction kit. This allows us greater control over where you can place the gadget.
  • M18 Claymore has been scaled up 33% to help players to spot them more easily within the environment.
  • M18 Claymore Blast Radius lowered from 6m -> 5m.
  • M18 Claymore Laser Length lowered from 3m -> 1.75m.
  • Minimum activation speed to trigger the M18 Claymore reduced from 3.8 m/s -> 3ms.
  • M18 Claymores can no longer be deployed too close to ladders, ziplines or hanging ropes.
  • Adjusted the VFX of the lasers on the M18 Claymore to stand out more when close.
  • M18 Claymore will now continue to stay in the world after the player who placed it has died, so long as they don’t place new ones.
  • Any placed M18 Claymores will be removed from the world if the player switches their loadout
  • Lowered the health of the M18 Claymore so that it’ll explode in one shot.

Med Pen

  • Reduced the amount of charges to 1 to balance it for the new Class Gadget slot.
  • Reduced the time it takes to initiate healing with the Med Pen from 2s -> 1s.
  • Reduced the health per second of the Med Pen from 50 -> 35.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed the player to zoom in with the Med Pen.
  • Fixed an issue that caused shockwaves from explosions to interrupt the Med Pen.
  • Pressing the button to switch to the Med Pen when already at full health should now play a sound effect to tell you that you can’t switch to it right now.

Recoilless M5

  • Increased the acceleration and top speed of the projectile.

Prox Sensor

  • Moved the Prox Sensor to the Open Gadget slot.

SOFLAM

  • The “Designated” UI is now only visible if you have a gadget that can lock on or currently hold the SOFLAM in your hands.

T-UGS

  • Updated the animation to now fold out the legs of the T-UGS when you equip it,
  • Substantially lowered the vertical scanning of the T-UGS to be more in line with All Out Warfare verticality.
  • Adjusted the crosshair of the T-UGS.
  • Changed the icon for the T-UGS in the world and menus to more accurately show off the gadget.

Tracer Dart Gun

  • Launchers can now lock onto the Tracer Dart when shot into environmental objects.
  • The “Designated” UI is now only visible if you have a gadget that can lock on or currently hold the Tracer Dart Gun in your hands.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Tracer Dart from smashing glass windows.
  • Adjusted the Tracer Dart Gun’s crosshair.
  • Fixed an issue where it would not be possible to switch to the Tracer Dart when out of ammo.

Gameplay Flow & Social Elements

  • As part of the Return to the Class System, we have revamped the Loadout UI on the Deploy Screen, resulting in a more compact approach while also including buttons to quickly switch between your last selected Soldier in each Class.
  • The Soldier Selection UI on the Deploy Screen now includes relevant information about your specialist Trait, Class Gadget, Weapon Proficiency and more.
  • Added Class Iconography to the Squad List, Scoreboard and Player Name Tags to help with identifying what Classes other players are playing.
  • Players that are not alive are now slightly faded out on the Scoreboard and their Class Icon becomes an “x” to reflect that change too.
  • Implemented a new “Classes” screen in the main menu, this is your go-to place to learn about the Classes, Specialists, their Traits and Gadgetry and also your new home for editing your Loadouts as they are now tied to each Class. The previous Loadout screen has been removed to reflect this overall change.
  • Added a new slot to the Inventory HUD (bottom right whilst in a match) for your Class Gadget.
  • Added a Weapon Proficiency Icon that is displayed in the Kill Card, Inventory HUD and Weapon Selection UI when the Class + Weapon archetype synergy is fulfilled.
  • Changed the Squad Leader Icon to now resemble a star, because delivering instructions to your Squad Mates alongside successful coordination should give you a star, you MVP you.
  • Changed the order of the tabs within the “Collection” menu so “Specialists” is no longer first. This is because the new Classes Screen is the new goto place for customizing Specialists and their Loadouts, so we wanted to make it quicker to customize Vehicles instead.
  • Added a new biography submenu to the “Specialists” collection screen aimed at helping you get to know the Specialists, their backstories and what they stand for.
  • Added a new charge-up crosshair for the manually equipped defibrillators to show when they are on cooldown after use and also convey that you revive with more health the longer you hold.
  • The inventory HUD now greys out a gadget if it’s not currently usable. For example the Med Pen when you are already at full health.
  • Renamed the “Utility” weapon category to “Tactical”.
  • The button prompt to switch to your primary or secondary in the inventory HUD on controllers is now hidden for the one you currently have equipped, to better show you which one you will switch to when pressing the contextual button.

General Improvements and Progression

  • Class Gadget: Added to Dpad UP
  • Grenade Throw: Moved to LB (Was previously Dpad UP By default)
  • Plus Menu: Moved to Y and now requires you to hold the button for a short duration before opening (was previously LB by default).
  • Default Navigation has changed to Dpad Up/Down/Left/Right (was previously Y/X/A/B by default).
  • Fixed an issue where “Show HUD Prompts” setting in options did not work
  • Optimized mouse input processing to ensure that the input is processed at a steadier rate and avoiding mouse input events processing spikes.
  • Fixed an issue where the Origin in-game overlay caused a negative impact on processing of the mouse input even if the overlay was not actually active.
  • Improved the quality of death animations from explosions
  • Improved the soldier ragdoll experience after a melee takedown
  • Fixed an issue where the correct animation wasn’t playing in first person when traversal sprinting with a one handed gadget
  • Improved transitions between sliding and prone states.
  • Show distance (in meters) on long range kills in the kill feed
  • Improved responsiveness of melee attack animations
  • Improve melee takedown registration on fast moving targets.
  • Fix for takedowns not working on fast moving elevators
  • Resolved scenarios of Specialists being stuck in a downed state after being revived from a melee takedown.
  • Made improvements to correctly portray the Blood Splatter when shooting enemy combatants.
  • Moving whilst aiming down scopes should no longer interrupt the action of holding your breath.
  • Fix for soldiers in vehicles preventing the vehicle from receiving damage from explosions
  • Added an option called “Damage Numbers Visibility” under DISPLAY > CROSSHAIR > HIT INDICATOR.
    • Dev Comment: This feature is experimental and turned OFF by default. When enabled, the damage dealt to enemies will be visible in the “Skull Train feed” (bottom center of the Screen) to let the player know how much damage was dealt.
  • Fixed an issue where Aiming Down-Sights immediately after bashing through a door could cause problems with the weapon animations.
  • Added brand new physical landing animations when jumping or falling, different animations should now play when hitting the ground from different fall heights – don’t go too high, you may splat.
  • Fixed an issue where the soldier could sometimes slightly move through the ground when hitting the ground at high speed.
  • Improved fall damage calculation consistency.
  • Improved the jumping experience on Gen4 Consoles (XB1, PS4).
  • Fixed an issue where you could freely rotate the camera during insertion and see inside of your own body.
  • Fix for downed characters in Hazard Zone changing their positions and directions suddenly multiple times in a row.
  • Fixed issue where soldiers sometimes got stuck when jumping onto the edge of objects.
  • Updated the visual look of UI directional damage indicators.
    • Dev Comment: The new visual look will make it easier to judge the amount of damage taken and when taking multiple hits from the same player, let us know your thoughts!
  • Fixed an issue where it wouldn’t be possible to perform a melee attack when jumping.
  • Supporting teammates by resupplying, healing or repairing now gives you score. This is shown in a new column in the scoreboard.
  • Fixed issue where repairing the Ranger would reward Healing XP instead of Repairing. XP. The Ranger might be a No-Pat’s best friend, but it’s not an actual puppy.
  • Changed the default unlocked weapon and gadgets to ensure all classes have access to a gadget and weapon with their proficiency from the start.

Hazard Zone

Note: Class Gadgets and Weapons Proficiencies have been added to Hazard Zone. Players will retain the option to purchase any Weapon or Gadget as part of the pre-round, independent of which Class you are playing.

Kaleidoscope

  • Fixed an issue where players can get inside the elevator shaft and inside the building when standing close to the elevator door near F1.
  • Fixed a spawn issue where contested spawns on A1 / A2 are inside of the Capture Point area.
  • Fixed an issue where the bridge control panel is highlighted in green.
  • Expanded the capture area for C2 flag during the last sector on Breakthrough Large
    • Dev Comment: We were noticing that when coming up against a very strong attacking force, the only response for Defending Teams was to park vehicles within the lobby area in order to succeed against Attackers. This change should allow for more breathing space for both teams on this flag point.

Spearhead

  • Fixed an issue where players can get stuck after walking in craters made by explosions.
  • Fixed an issue where players can get stuck when walking into the space between some covers in the A1 flag area.
  • Fixed an issue where jets are not destroyed upon crashing into the rocks.
  • Fixed an issue where deployed gadgets are not destroyed by moving platforms.
  • Fixed a weather issue where cloud animation is inconsistent when the weather is changing.
  • Fixed some level of detail issues for both factories.
  • Fixed an issue where a line of light appears when players approach the walls inside the building.
  • Fixed level of detail issues at C1 for the roof panel when in a destroyed state.
  • Fixed an issue where the factory interior walkways are leading towards walls.
  • Made improvements to initial spawns during the insertion phase of the match.

Stranded

  • Fixed an issue where the UI overlay menus on Stranded are darker than on other maps.
  • Fixed an issue with incorrect spawning on Gun Master Game Mode on the FFA layout.
  • Fixed an issue where dying inside the ship will result in the camera being overexposed for a brief period of time.
  • Fixed an issue where in Tactical Conquest 8v8 each team has only 1 spawn point which can lead to one team being spawn camped.

Soldier

  • Fixed an issue where holding down Control to crouch and opening the Call-in Tablet at the same time forced the player to stand up.
  • Fixed an issue where the running animations were not correctly displaying when sprinting and sliding with one handed weapons
  • Adjusted the way the interaction revive works to be closer to the manual revive behavior.
  • Adjusted the blood effect when hitting soldiers. The effect will now be more transparent and not as “bright” in dark spaces.
  • Soldier health starts automatically regenerating 1 second after being revived at the regular passive health regeneration rate (5HP/s)
  • Squad Revives for non-Support Specialists now gives 25 HP back on revive instead of 50.
  • Fire-Mode can now be toggled when Aiming Down Sights.
  • Underbarrel toggle can now also be toggled when Aiming Down Sights, but will require holding the button.
  • Locking onto targets is no longer interrupted if the target vehicle becomes empty during the locking-on phase, countering some pesky behavior by some drivers/pilots.
  • Made improvements to the locking-on target acquisition behavior, small objects in-front of intended targets should be less likely to obstruct locking on.
  • Parachute: Lowered the cooldown between being able to deploy your parachute after recently cutting it from 1s to 0.6s

Specialists

Angel

  • Changed Angel’s Loadout Crate to allow you to customize each individual slot in your loadout.
  • Reduced the number of magazines Angel’s Supply Bag resupply down to 3 per pouch.
  • Angel’s Loadout Crate can now resupply the M18 Claymore, MAV (Battlefield Portal), and T-UGS
  • Added two interact behaviors to the Loadout Crate so now if you only press the button you will resupply ammo for your weapons and gadgets. If you keep holding the button you will open up the full loadout customization menu.

Boris

  • The SG-36 Sentry Gun no longer overlays targets but instead highlights their name tags for Boris and his squad mates.
  • The SG-36 Sentry Gun ammo caliber has changed and can now deal damage to heavy vehicles.
    • Deals about 0.6-0.8% dmg per shot.
  • Reworked the SG-36 Sentry Gun’s target prioritization. It will now focus target vehicles primarily, unless infantry is within 25m of the Sentry Gun.

Casper

  • Fixed an issue where Casper was unable to deploy the OV-P Recon Drone while prone in bushes

Crawford

  • Crawford has been moved from Support to the Engineer Class.
  • Crawford has received a new Trait: Critical Repair, which provides faster repair for vehicles and gadgets that are at critical health.
  • Crawford’s Mounted Vulcan bullet caliber has changed and can now deal damage to all vehicle categories.
  • Crawford’s Mounted Vulcan now deals 0.1% damage per bullet to tanks at a fire rate of 1200 RPM.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Crawford’s Mounted Vulcan from being repaired.

Dozer

  • Fixed an issue where you could not destroy Boris’  SG-36 Sentry Gun using Dozer’s SOB-8 Ballistic Shield.

Falck

  • Falck’s Combat Surgeon Trait is now active with the manually equipped defibrillator. This allows Falck to charge the defibrillator faster to perform a full health revive compared to Irish or Angel.

Irish

  • Irish has been moved from Engineer to the Support Class.
    • As a Support, Irish now has access to the Defibrillator Class Gadget, and is able to revive any teammate.
  • As part of Irish’ repositioning to an Engineer role we have replaced his Trait with the Cache Point, which was previously attributed to Crawford. This Trait provides successfully revived players with additional Gadget Ammo.
  • Irish’ APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel can now be repaired by Engineers.
  • The APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel will now be able to intercept Javelin Missiles.

Lis

  • Increased Lis’ G-84 TGM maximum range from 450m -> 600m.
  • Reduced the ground vehicle range of Lis’ armor hunter trait from 175m -> 125m.
  • Reduced the air vehicle range of Lis’ armor hunter trait from 400m -> 300m.
  • Increased the speed of Lis’ G-84 TGM when boosted from 100m/s -> 150m/s.
  • Increased the hitbox of Lis’ G-84 TGM by 20% (will help in shooting it down as its incoming).
  • Increased turning angles of Lis’ G-84 TGM.
  • Lowered the turning angle of Lis’ G-84 TGM when boost has been activated.
  • Fixed an issue where Lis G-84 TGM Projectiles dealt no damage to the enemy when shot at their legs.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Lis’ G-84 TGM to have a 1 second delay before initiating a reload after exiting the missile view.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Lis’ G-84 TGM boost mode to not use the correct acceleration modifier unless the boost key was held down.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Lis’ TGM to travel through soldiers legs.
  • The Armor Hunter Trait will now only trigger when the G-84 TGM is equipped.
  • Added a contextual game hint for when in hipfire and when zooming.
  • Fixed an issue where Lis’ G-84 TGM missile moved considerably slower diagonally when using a controller.

Mackay

  • Mackay’s Grapple Hook Range changed from 30m to 24m
  • Mackay’s Nimble Trait bonus movement speed has been reduced when zoomed in particular with heavy weapons (AMR, LMG, Sniper Rifle). Bonus movement speed with Assault Rifles, DMRs, and Lever Action Rifles has also been reduced but SMGs and Pistols will still have similar speeds.

Rao

  • Fixed an issue where Rao’s Signal Hacker gadget had “lowering gun logic” which lead to him lowering his hand and gadget when close to walls and objects
  • Hacked targets should now be targetable by teammates, similar to targets painted by the SOFLAM, to allow more synergies with the Engineer class. Launchers like the Recoilless will now be able to lock-on to hacked targets via this method.
  • Increased cooldown after hacking a vehicle from 5s -> 8s.
  • Increased the time it takes to hack a vehicle from 1.5s -> 2.25s.

Sundance

  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused Sundance’s Smart Explosives to display the wrong icon.

Zain

  • Fixed an issue where Zains’ Perseverance trait VFX would override the “Return to Combat Screen” when stepping out of bounds.
  • Fixed a minor collision issue with Zain’s Gadget when equipped on his back.
  • Fixed an issue with the XM370A Airburst Launcher reload animation, where it was out of sync when reloading.
  • As part of the rollout of Thermal Scopes, Zain will also be able to use thermals with his XM370A Airburst Launcher.

Vehicles

  • Increased the damage of Air to Ground Missiles to Light and Medium Transport Vehicles.
    • Air-to-Ground Missile replenish rate decreased from 20 -> 16.
    • Air-to-Ground Missile will no longer stop reloading when you hold fire.
  • The LCAA Hovercraft will no longer visually lose its Light Machine Gun when viewed at a distance of 30+ meters.
  • The EBLC-RAM’s Insertion Beacon will now always spawn you on foot.
  • VFX now plays on all mines deployed by the M5C Bolte.
  • KA-520 Super Hokum now has a wreckage after being destroyed.
  • You can no longer kill passengers in a LATV4 by shooting under the vehicle.
  • Fixed an issue where aim sensitivity is too high when zooming in with a vehicle weapon.
  • Fixed an issue that would incorrectly reset the camera view when freelooking whilst using Southpaw layout settings.
  • Range meters in spotter seats no longer always show 200+ as distance when aiming at vegetation.
  • Fixed the roll camera for Jets when conducting a 90° spin.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented aircraft landing gear from automatically deploying when trying to land on certain objects, occasionally resulting in damage to the aircraft when colliding with the object.
  • VFX will now trigger for grenades that are thrown towards a vehicle armed with Active Protection from close range.
  • Occupied Helicopters will no longer start spinning around when destroyed on the ground.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause vehicle engine sounds to play after it has been destroyed.
  • Aircraft Flare Countermeasures will no longer continue to fire if the vehicle is destroyed while the ability is active.
  • Vehicles can only lock-on when they have ammo available to do so.
    • Dev Comment: This is to ensure that we reduce unnecessary lock-on warning spam, while also adding further readability to the game.
  • Descriptions for all tank turrets have been updated.
  • Helicopters will now stall at -200 meters from the set maximum height of the level, as indicated in our Height Limits comments.
  • As indicated within our Dev Note’s from the Vehicle Team, Turret Speeds for the M1A5 and T28 have now improved.
  • Locking against laser designated targets with vehicle weapons now uses correct locking settings.

EMKV90-TOR

  • Fixed an issue that would cause Threat Detection SFX to be played outside of the EMKV90-TOR.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause vegetation to not be pushed down when driving the EMKV90-TOR.
  • Further improvements to align EMKV90-TOR shots with its crosshair.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the EMKV90-TOR to not deal any damage to the very top of an enemy vehicle.

KA-520 Super Hokum and MV38-Condor

  • Replenish rate of ammo 50mm Cannon Pod for Transport Helicopters reduced from 6 -> 4.5 seconds.

MD540 Nightbird

  • Blast Damage reduced from 40 -> 25.
  • Replenish Rate reduced from 2.5 -> 2.
  • Ammo count lowered from 16 -> 10.

RAH-68 Huron and YG-99 Hannibal

  • The Stealth Bomb crosshair will no longer display for Helicopters over 400m above the ground.
  • Stealth Helicopters will now have the repair and flare equipment under the same slot. It’s dangerous to go alone, choose wisely.
  • Air-to-Ground Missiles can no longer be manually reloaded.
  • TOW Missiles time to gain control reduced to 0.1

Weapons

  • Fixed an issue that would allow for continuous shooting while in burst mode of the M93R.
  • Fixed an issue which would cause Specialist hands to clip through several M240B scopes while reloading.
  • Realigned the beam of the flashlight on the NVK-S22 when viewed from 3rd person perspective.
  • Realigned the beam of the flashlight on the Avancys when viewed from both 1st and 3rd person perspective.
  • The correct crosshair now displays for Slug Shell ammunition.
  • Removed tracers from appearing when using the Subsonic Magazine on the NVK-P125.
  • Improved the NVK-P125’s burst fire animation.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause a weapon to appear to fire from 3rd person perspective when the player throws a grenade.
  • Bipods will now remain open if switching to and from other weapons.
  • Fixed the MP443’s empty reload animation.
  • Aim Assist snap is now functional when set to 100 on PS5.
  • Highlights are now present on an enemy weapon after pick-up.
  • The aborted reload on the 12G Automatic is now consistent with other weapons.
  • Increased weapons idle sway across the board
  • Fixed 2.5x Zoom Aim Sensitivity option not properly applying to 2.5x Scopes
  • Fixed an issue where the in-game customization menu would move out of screen when the player’s weapon is close to a wall.
  • Updated ADS movespeed for gadgets, weapons (especially Battlefield Portal weapons that were often much slower than AOW weapons), also adjusted base speed.

Battlefield 2042 update v3.1.2 (BF2042 Update 1.25) is available on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official BF2042 1.25 patch notes, the latest update adds 6 Weapons for BF 1942’s Portal Arsenal, including M1 Garand and Sten. BF2042 1.25 Patch Notes (Update 3.1.2) – January 17, 2023

Battlefield Portal

  • Spearhead is now available on multiple Official Templates in the Web Builder, such as Conquest Hardcore, FFA and Team Deathmatch

Maps

  • Spearhead: Resolved an instance of clipping with the camera during the insertion phase at the start of a match

Specialists

  • We have fixed an issue where Specialists were not rendering correctly during the insertion phases at the start of a match, sorry for giving you a fright
  • Sundance: Anti-Armor Grenade’s are now correctly intercepted by Vehicles that have Active Protection Systems triggered
  • Crawford: Resolved an issue where there was no iconography to display the progression of overheating while using the Mounted Vulcan Stationary Minigun

Vehicles

  • 50MM Cannon Pod Ammo on Transport Air Vehicles increased from 8 -> 10
  • Resolved an issue where for a brief period of time, the EMKV90-TOR’s turret speed would be slowed after firing with the HHV-EMG Maul Primary Weapon

Weapons

  • Fixed some cases of recoil compensation not being consistent upon firing for prolonged periods of time
  • Damage for the Rorsch MK-4 has been reduced against Vehicles while in the High Power Capacitor variant of the Weapon (Single Shot), this change is to ensure that the Rorsch is able to assist in taking out some vehicle targets however isn’t the predominant way to take out targets as has been previously witnessed.
    • Heavy vehicles now take approximately 50% less damage
    • Light vehicles now take approximately 25% less damage
    • High Power Capacitor Charge Up increased from 0.8 -> 1 second
  • Damage for the MCS-880 has been improved for Close Range scenarios, bringing it in line with other Utility Weapons such as the 12M Auto and NVK-S22.
    • Damage per pellet has increased from 8 -> 15 at a range of under 20 meters with Default Buckshot rounds (#01 Buckshot)
  • NVK-P125 Bursts per Minute increased from 150 -> 160, this should now align with the intended tempo of the weapon

Battlefield 2042 update v3.1.4 (BF2042 Update 1.27) is available on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official BF2042 1.27 patch notes, the latest update a reworked Manifest, with improved lighting, reduced distances between objectives, and more shipping containers. GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS

  • You are now able to dynamically change the zoom radius of the minimap via keybind
  • Improved hit registration against soldiers on moving platforms or vehicles
  • Resolved an issue where a vault animation could play on top of a reload animation
  • Further improvements to improve responsiveness around weapon deploy and undeploy animations, aiming down sight, sprint traversal and reduced the time around enter soldier movement speeds these changes will be particularly felt on animation
  • Improved responsiveness on transition into movement from standing still
  • Addressed a bug where it was possible to skip the traversal sprint recovery time
  • Fixed animation not playing properly when entering vehicles though entrance that is high above the ground
  • Resolved an issue where the Character is stuck in downed state after dying during a takedown and then getting revived
  • Fix a rare issue that could make the player stuck in a limbo state after dying during a takedown
  • Making hit reactions more pronounced to improve the shooting experience
  • Addressed a bug where Sundance may have a more bouncy landing via their Wingsuit than anticipated
  • Fixed a bug where landing with the wingsuit on a fence shortly after activating could cause lethal fall damage
  • Addressed a bug with Blood Splatter not appearing correctly when shooting enemy soldiers
  • Addressed a bug causing blood spatter effects to appear in unintended places
  • Added blood mist elements to the regular body and head shot impacts on soldiers to better convey that you hit an enemy
  • Fixed a bug where you could attach to a rope through thin walls
  • Fix for left hand animations breaking after entering a vehicle from traversal sprint
  • Fixed a bug when traversal sprinting into water could make the swimming animation break
  • Addressed a bug where you could sometimes see floating weapon parts after throwing a smart grenade

MAPS

Renewal

  • Adjusted the Capture Zone for Sector A and B to encourage a smoother flow of gameplay as an Attacker.

Kaleidoscope

  • Removed C1 and G1 Capture Points on Conquest Large, and merged the subsequent capture area into nearby Capture Points. The win rate was balanced towards one side unfairly with Kaleidoscope, and these changes should hopefully improve and encourage a more natural flow of play throughout

Stranded

  • Tweaked ticket count for Conquest to encourage a slightly longer duration of match time
  • Adjusted the combat area and out of bounds limits on Breakthrough, for the last sector
  • Defender HQ has been moved closer to the flag on Breakthrough, for the last sector
  • Adjusted the HQ area and out of bounds limits for the first sector on Rush
  • The MCOM for the first sector has been relocated out of the hanger on Rush
  • Made improvements to other MCOM positions to improve attacking flow for Rush
  • Fixed an instance of flickering terrain when in low flying aircraft around D1
  • Fixed the ability to hide in in-world stationary Tanks near the C1 Objective
  • Fixed level of detail issue on destroyed showroom screens
  • We’ve placed extra lubrication on the crane rails for the Shipping Container grabber inside the ship, this means it shall no longer be jittery in motion and should be much smoother!

Manifest

  • Fixed a rare issue that allowed grenades to fall through the ground
  • Resolved a visual issue where flying close to the incoming storm on Manifest would result in a black vignette around the screen
  • A melee attack to a chair in the office suite will no longer destroy the entire desk, we have yet to invent Adamantium as part of your arsenal loadout
  • Fixed audio issue where metal scaffolding throughout the level did not sound correct to its material type
  • Improved lighting draw distance scenarios for the Toll Station at distance
  • Fixed issue in FFA where players got deployed under the map on small layout
  • Fixed issue where enemies could be seen deploying in the same spot
  • Fixed issue where the Spawn Beacon could be placed after crawling under containers
  • Fixed issue where the lighting poles on the map remained lit after being destroyed.
  • Fixed an instance of lighting draw distance inside the Storage Facility

Spearhead

  • Further improvements to the initial spawning phase on Rush
  • Fixed some debris issues when the Landed Drone’s propeller was destroyed
  • Addressed a bug where at certain angles during the downed-state, some water sources could disappear
  • Addressed a bug where players were not taking damage from fire around the tire piles
  • Fixed issue where several entrances of the cube buildings were very darkly lit
  • Sealed the roof of the tunnel so rain no longer appears inside it
  • Fixed Printer Boxes issue where the robotic arm was still functional after the printer box got destroyed
  • Fixed issue where Deploy Point UI was missing from the Deploy screen on FFA
  • Fixed issue where a stack of four yellow tank containers were floating inside the E2 flag
  • Fixed issue where killcam transition to deploy screen showed the whole interior of the building when dying inside C2 & E1 buildings
  • Fixed some minor tree clipping issues around vents and containers
  • Fixed issue with movers where Ammo/Health crates would not get destroyed when a Mover passing over them
  • Fixed level of detail issues for base of robot arm after the yellow robots were destroyed

AI

  • Given each AI Soldier a navigation manual that should help them through the road between Sector D and E with more ease on Spearhead
  • With this navigation manual, we have also told them to look out for small objects and not to get confused by them on Spearhead
  • Addressed a bug where AI could get stuck navigating through the Ventilator Zone on C2 and E1 on Spearhead
  • Given driving instructions for AI driving larger vehicles for Rush on Spearhead
  • Fixed issues where AIs were unable to climb ladders on Spearhead’s Capture Point E2

WEAPONS

  • Toggle Optics should now be listed for the NVK-NXT 2X scope in the Rorsch Mk-4 collection menu
  • Addressed a bug that was causing the PKS-07 to clip through the camera when equipped on the A-91
  • Addressed a bug that allowed the primary scope on the Rorsch Mk-4 to float slightly above the weapon on PlayStation 4
  • Addressed a bug where flashlights or lasers would sometimes be visible on secondary weapons and gadgets
  • Addressed a bug where the HUD would sometimes fail to load after switching attachments on weapons
  • Addressed a bug that was causing laser beams to be misplaced at different FOV values
  • Ensured that the sound effects are aligned with the firing of the 12M Auto
  • Subsonic magazine no longer interferes with other magazines ammo capacity on the VCAR
  • Subsonic mesh is visible when swapping from other magazines on the VCAR

  • We have updated several elements of our weapons to improve the overall ‘feel’ of them. This includes work across our Reload Animations which should make all weapons, across the entire game, feel a lot more snappier and responsive.

VEHICLES

  • Call-in audio now plays when calling in the EMKV90-TOR
  • Updated the description of the Active Protection System to convey that it does not block close range projectiles
  • Addressed a bug where VFX was not displaying correctly when Active Protection Systems were firing
  • Addressed a bug where vehicles could have a repeating wet pattern on them
  • Addressed a bug that was preventing deployable gadgets such as the Spawn Beacon from being placed closed to either of the EBLC-RAM or EMKV90-TOR while Active Protection Systems were enabled
  • Addressed a bug where aiming within a tank could become problematic while looking at smoke
  • Parts of aircraft would sometimes animate in the wrong direction, we’ve turned them around so now they’ll be rotating on the correct axis
  • Addressed a bug that would allow drivers in the MAV to be able to ADS while in 1P view
  • Addressed a bug that was causing overheat circle to wrongly display while using the Howitzer cannon on the EBLC-RAM
  • Addressed a bug that was causing vehicles such as the LATV4 and LCAA Hovercraft from receiving too much damage when colliding with various objects around a map
  • Overheat and cooldown states are communicated with red in the crosshair HUD circle
  • For the MD540 Nightbird, we have lowered the ground pull effect and tweaked the force, may it be with you always
  • Addressed a bug when deploying into a vehicle that would cause the camera to briefly go inside the vehicle and look weird
  • Calling in a LCAA Hovercraft on top of a tank will propel the tank high in the sky or under the map. Physics are weird sometimes

  • The “Unassigned” UI is no longer present in 1p view after repeatedly switching the seats on AAV-7A1 AMTRAC

  • In Rush, the Scoreboard now shows the correct objective icon for Attackers and Defenders
  • Addressed a bug with displaying the Player Levels correctly at the End of Round Progression screen
  • Addressed a bug where the unlock requirement progress for an already unlocked Player Card item would look like it had been reset
  • Addressed a bug where the wrong unlock requirement would be displayed on attachments
  • Addressed a bug where an item would show up as new even if you had previously unlocked it in a different way

BF2042 1.26 Patch Notes (Update 3.1.3)

What’s New?

  • New Map: Spearhead

Spearhead is our latest CQC-focused map, nestled within the rocky formations of the Swedish wilderness you will find Nordvik’s manufacturing facilities, capable of manufacturing high-tech weaponry and components for weather machinery.

  • New Specialist: Rasheed Zain

Specialty: XM370A

The XM370A is an Airburst Launcher that allows Zain to flush out enemies from around and over cover, becoming a situational area denial loadout. If you have some foes hiding behind cover and are giving you trouble, the XM370A is the go-to piece of hardware.

Trait: Perseverance

Perseverance allows for Zain to begin recovering health immediately upon taking out an enemy. This effect stops if Zain takes further damage.

  • New Vehicle: EMKV90-TOR

Positioned at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, the EMKV90-TOR is a Rail Gun Destroyer Tank that is capable of entering alternate modes aimed at arising and responding to different combat situations.

  • New Weapons: Rorsch Mk-4, NVK-P125, NVK-S22

Rorsch Mk-4

This weapon uses electromagnetic forces to launch projectiles at preposterous speeds.With powerful armor penetrating ammunition and requiring a short charge up time before each shot this versatile weapon can adapt itself to any situation and change its fire properties by quickly swapping the configuration of its under barrel mounted capacitors.

NVK-P125

With its unusual Bullpup configuration and its particularly high bullet speed this sidearm is perfect for engaging moving targets at medium distances without compromises, the perfect companion for any sharpshooter.

NVK-S22

Need a shotgun with tactical options? This dual-barreled semi-automatic weapon offers great destructive power in a compact and nimble package. Surprise your enemies and become the dominator of close-quarters combat.

  • New Gadget: Throwing Knife

These deadly knives are used by masters of precision and timing and will deliver lethal damage for the one ready to meet the task at hand. You can pick them back up and try again.

  • New Vault Weapons: XM8 LMG, A-91

Within our Season 3 Battle Pass we’ll be including XP Boosts, these are items placed on a set number of tiers which grant you an additional boost in XP for a certain period of time.

While these XP Boosts will be consumed as soon as you earn them, the timer will only count down while you are actively in a match. You can expect to receive your first XP Boost at Tier 18 of Season 3’s Battle Pass.

Bug Fixes

PING SYSTEM REWORK

The latest update made alterations to how the Ping System functions within Battlefield 2042, these changes aim to reduce the complexity of the existing ping system. Allowing for improvements to the pacing and accuracy of communication between teammates.

  • Pressing the ping button once will no longer place a location ping, but instead check for targets such as soldiers, vehicles or objects near the point of that placed ping.
  • If a threat is within the radius, it will immediately ping or spot that target for a duration of time.
  • Spots are shared to the team, while pings are share to your squad.
  • Pressing the ping button twice in a row will still place a danger ping in that location.
  • Contextually, pinging targets no longer has any input delay.
  • Repeatedly pressing the ping button without the system finding any targets will incur a short cooldown which will prevent spotting.

With these changes in place, we anticipate an increase in communication between your team while reducing out of date pings that may have been placed for a previous encounter.

GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS

  • Addressed a bug where Q-spotting was not working as intended when pinging enemy air vehicles from further than 300m away
  • Addressed a bug when switching between Borderless from Fullscreen, the game window was not rendering as intended
  • Fixed an instance where pressing the ESC button would sometimes show an old Experience Selection screen
  • UI subtitles from Tutorial Videos would remain on screen for a short time when returning back to the main menu
  • User receives invalid game state error 2:2413J when accepting an invite from a player being in the second part of a Breakthrough game
  • The Turn Right/Yaw Right keybind was unable to be unbound unless the user unbinds Turn Left/Yaw Left too. This has now been resolved.
  • You will now be presented with a prompt to repair your game installation, if the game detects that you’re missing files from a patch process
  • Soldier movement when changing directions will now appear smoother through improved animation physics
  • Fix for character models getting stuck outside of vehicles after entering them or changing seats while playing with high latency
  • Fix for ping not being positioned correctly for players inside vehicle open seat
  • Communication between soldiers equipped with Repair Tools has improved when near vehicles
    • A soldier with the Repair Tool equipped will be able to see an icon over vehicles that are needing to be repaired
    • A vehicle driver will be able to see an icon over soldiers equipped with the repair tool.
  • Added a new HUD option called “Interaction Prompt Scale” which allows adjusting the size of interaction prompts. This option can be found under Display > HUD Icons

AUDIO

  • Fixed projectile and firing SFX for the AA rocket for the Attack Helicopters
  • Lock-on sounds design overhaul, resulting in improved Air & Ground target lock on sounds
  • Weapons Audio sound improvements
  • Improved instances of VO when deploying into vehicles

GADGETS

  • Resolved an issue where the sprint animation for Launcher Gadgets wouldn’t play as intended in first person

General

  • Addressed a bug on previous generation consoles where character models were not rendering properly

  • Addressed a bug that would often show Specialists’ character hands as shaking while climbing ladders
  • We’ve made several changes to improve the responsiveness of Soldiers in Update 3.0, you will notice these improvements particularly around Soldier Movement such as Jumping, Vaulting, Sliding, Entering Ladders and the deployment of Parachutes
  • Fixed Specialists having odd movement while attached to a rope while standing ontop of vehicles

Crawford

  • Addressed a bug with Crawford’s animation Vulcan Stationary Minigun animation while in death cam

Sundance

  • On the first explosion when being killed by Sundance’s Scatter Grenade, the wrong weapon was displayed. It now rightfully calls it out as ‘Scatter’
  • Addressed a bug that caused Sundance’s Anti-Armor grenade to be called Scatter

Casper

  • Addressed a bug where the “No ammo” prompt was displayed when Casper deploys the OV-P Recon Drone

Irish

  • We had spotted instances where Irish’ Deployable Cover was unable to be deployed as intended, we’ve made steps towards improving this

AI SOLDIERS

  • AI Soldiers will no longer quickly bleed out when being pinged by the player
  • AI Soldiers will no longer immediately re-enter vehicles after exiting due to taking damage
  • AI Soldiers have learnt the ability to drive and shoot with the M5C Bolte, always ensure you look both ways when crossing a road
  • AI Soldiers will now revive more often than before
  • Addressed a bug which resulted in AI Soldiers attempting to climb destroyed ladders
  • Improved AI navigation through several maps and modes

MAPS

  • Fixed issue where players would not receive damage while in moving elevators on Kaleidoscope, Hourglass, Exposure and Orbital
  • Seagulls have begun to migrate, you’ll see less of them in some areas of maps. Do seagulls quack?
  • Adjusted birds flying low and popping in and out of view
  • Soldiers will no longer appear as though the are spawning in through the ground on maps
  • Fixed issue where entering an elevator with the ATV would result in death, driving them off a considerable height may still result in death when they land

Categorization of Vehicles has received an overhaul with Update 3.0, providing updates to the classification of Vehicles. Vehicle counts and availability have also been updated depending on Map and Mode requirements.

With the reworked allocation of Vehicles and their availability, you can expect Maps and Modes to play a part in the amount available to you.

For example with Conquest 128 Players on Spearhead will consist of 4 Light Transport, 1 Armored Transport, 1 Light Armour, 2 Heavy Armour, 1 Air Transport, 1 Attack Helicopter and 1 Jet Per Team alongside In-World Civilian Vehicles.

  • Addressed a bug where AT missile could not be fired against SOFLAM painted Aircraft and AA Missile could not be fired against SOFLAM painted Vehicles
  • Addressed a bug with absent visual effects on tanks when receiving systemic damage
  • Lowered collision damage multiplier at low-med velocity for Bolte

WEAPONS

  • Addressed a bug where the MGL Laser beam was not properly aligned with the Ghostmaker R10 and its attachments

  • Avancys is now using the correct bipod
  • Addressed a bug with the hands pose being incorrectly placed on the LS-1 Laser Sight on M12
  • HE Grenades and Incendiary Grenades now always explode after the arm timer has elapsed, regardless of a player having been hit before or not
  • Fixed Scope magnification on the GOL Magnum Sniper not applying properly when switching between weapon attachments and other weapons
  • Addressed a bug where the reload prompt was not the same color as the rest of the HUD
  • Improved a situation where the weapon would stop shooting in automatic fire under bad network conditions

  • There was too much dirt on some scopes for the BSV-M, we’ve put a cloth to some of the lenses and they should now be much cleaner

  • Shotgun pellet count lowered and damage adjusted to compensate
  • Fixed issue with suppressors not silencing under some conditions
  • Removed the 1x Body Shot range on SWS-10 to match the change on the GOL
    • We have noticed a rising trend of using bolt actions in enclosed space and getting advantage of this feature, meant to be used defensively, in an offensive manner
    • This change encourages Bolt Actions to be used for medium to long range encounters, allowing for the opportunity to switch to a sidearm on close quarter encounters
  • Bolt Action Snipers Hipfire Dispersion increased by ~1 degree in all stances
  • Increased AKS-74u Damage drop-off distance, making it better at medium combat ranges
  • Lowered Avancys Damage drop-off distance, there will no longer be a 4-Shot Kill range during close range encounters

Battlefield 2042 update 2.2 (BF2042 Update 1.22) is available on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official BF2042 1.22 patch notes, the latest update brings a reworked Orbital, with an improved gameplay flow and cover. Apart from this, today’s Battlefield 2042 version 1.22 (1.000.024) also includes 3 new Vault Weapons are available in All-Out Warfare; the ACW-R, AKS-74u and MP412 REX and much more.

Previously, a major BF2042 update 2.0 added addressed the visual effects (VFX) of Paik’s EMG-X Scanner. Recently, an update 2.1 also added Renewal Rework, 3 new Vault Weapons added to All-Out Warfare and a new Polaris RZR transport vehicle. Unfortunately, since the last patch, players are facing various disconnection and login issues with the game. Today’s Battlefield 2042 patch 1.22 will fix a few of these issues.

BF2042 Update 1.22 Patch Notes (v2.2) – October 20, 2022

The Update Overview:

  • A reworked version of Orbital with an improved gameplay flow, more cover and assets, and terrain improvements
  • 3 new Vault Weapons enter the All-Out Warfare arsenal; the ACW-R, AKS-74u and MP412 REX
  • Premium Battle Pass holders will have the option to keep their servers visible in the Server Browser via the new Persistent Servers Feature even when they’re not playing
  • Laser Sight behavior on weaponry has received improved visuals and is now more fluid and reactive with movement

New Vault Weapons

ACW-R – Battlefield 3

A lightweight, feature-heavy rifle platform chambering a recoil-reducing round. It’s reliable in all weather conditions from wet, sticky jungles to gritty deserts.

Unlock Assignments:

  • 100 Kills and Assists with the ACW-R or M5A3
  • 20 Headshot Kills with Assault Rifles

AKS-74u – Battlefield: Bad Company 2 / Battlefield 3

A compact and maneuverable platform that excels in CQB situations. 30-round magazine and high rate of fire help you say goodbye to the competition. Just keep it under control.

Unlock Assignments:

  • 100 Kills and Assists with AKS-74u or AM40
  • 8 Kills with Assault Rifles from a distance of 25m or less in a round

MP412 REX – Battlefield: Bad Company 2 / Battlefield 3

The “revolver for export” chambers the .357 round with a 6 round capacity and high damage. But being a revolver, it is low capacity and requires more time to reload.

Unlock Assignments:

  • 60 Kills and Assists with the MP-412 REX or M44
  • 10 Headshot Kills with Secondary Weapons

Changelog

General

  • The in-game Blocked Players list now updates in realtime when Blocking or Unblocking a user from the same platform
  • The Squad VOIP UI is no longer visible on the Home Menu when starting the game
  • When joining a Portal Featured Experience, the map location icon is now displayed on the loading screen in the bottom-left corner of the screen
  • Resolved an issue that could display the same Welcome Screen multiple times when booting the game

  • Addressed a bug where the “No Ammo” prompt is displayed when throwing your last available grenade
  • The wrong name is no longer displayed for the FXM-33 within the Collection screen
  • Fixed a bug where the left arm is not visible while using the Med-Pen while traversal sprint is active
  • Addressed a bug where the Repair Tool was shaking during the repairing or damaging animation

Mutators

Soldier

  • Addressed a bug which prevented movement in any direction while using a parachute
  • Soldiers are no longer able to stand on Flying Drones. Drones are not made for surfing and you should know better
  • Soldiers no longer spin for a brief moment after exiting vehicles
  • Addressed a bug where reload animations sometimes wouldn’t play as intended directly after being revived
  • Addressed a bug where moving slowly while prone could prevent the matching animations from being played
  • Soldier physics and animation stances were sometimes out of sync. This allowed movement into spaces where there wasn’t enough room to stand
  • Fixed several instances where input didn’t work while parachuting
  • Soldiers will now stop faster when starting a revive while sliding. This should prevent you from sliding out of range while starting a revive
  • Fixes several instances where the vaulting animation didn’t trigger on stairs or steep slopes
  • You can no longer deploy on a squad mate who is close to an enemy vehicle

Angel

  • Fixed a bug where playing Angel and being in the MD540 Nightbird passenger seat prevented you from dropping a Supply Crate

Boris

  • Addressed a bug where going outside the SG-36 Sentry Gun’s range breaks its firing animation while the Sentry Gun is moving

Casper

  • Fixed a bug where “Enter Drone” prompt is present on screen even when the player does not use Casper’s tablet
  • Addressed a bug with the EMP weapon icon missing while controlling Caspers’ Recon Drone

Crawford

  • Fixed a bug where you could disappear from the map, and squad mates wouldn’t be able to spawn on you when operating the Mounted Vulcan

Irish

  • Addressed a bug where Irish’s “Veteran” Trait prevented picking up ammo from fallen enemies

  • Fixed a bug where Lis dealt 0 damage when shooting herself with the G-84 TGM. We don’t know why you want to do that though.

Mackay

  • An animation issue for Mackay during End of Round has been fixed

Paik

  • Addressed a bug with Paiks’ Scanner where the “Got one!” Voice Over would trigger while no enemy was visible on the minimap

Rao

  • Addressed a bug with Rao’s Cyber Warfare Suite where a white scanning Indicator was momentarily visible when first equipping it
  • Addressed a bug with Rao not getting XP when Hacking doors

Sundance

  • Addressed a bug where Sundance bounces while opening the Wingsuit close to the ground
  • Addressed a bug where the wrong name isdisplayed for Sundance’s Grenade Belt

Maps

We have made numerous smaller fixes across several maps with a focus on fixing bugs which could detract from a smooth and immersive gameplay experience. You should find less distractions such as becoming stuck, seeing floating, glitched or low quality terrain and assets.

Breakaway

  • Fixed some ice and snow covered mounds spawning with low quality textures when explosives are used nearby

Discarded

  • Fixed reflecting lights on the ship interior floor that didn’t accurately change position during movement

Exposure

  • Addressed a bug where soldiers could clip through the roof texture and see outside a building at A2
  • Fixed extended collision of several pine trees that prevented players from shooting through them
  • Addressed a bug where players could get stuck behind an invisible collision after falling from a cliff at B1
  • Players will no longer clip through metal beams after climbing on crates at D4
  • Addressed a bug in 64 player Breakthrough where the terrain around fences could be destroyed enough to them float
  • Fixed several areas in structures where soldiers could get stuck
  • Addressed a bug on B1 between containers and landslides which allowed players to crawl through them towards the other side
  • Fixed issue in Breakthrough where soldiers could get stuck between barriers and containers in the tunnel from US HQ to the C1 flag
  • Fixed issue at D3 where soldiers could not traverse the middle of this elevation when running towards the zipline
  • Addressed a bug on several locations where sometimes Soldiers could either go below, or into unintended locations of the map
  • Fixed issue where it was possible to see through mountain textures
  • Fixed issue where the Interaction Key remained visible after having interacted with automatic doors
  • Addressed a bug at where grenades could get glitched in the ceiling of the room with the D1 flag
  • Fixed multiple issues of stretched and corrupted textures across the map
  • Fixed multiple areas on the map where Soldiers could clip through assets or terrain
  • Fixed multiple misplaced or floating assets across the map

Hourglass

  • Addressed a bug with several buildings having collisions outside their visuals. This means they unintentionally could blog bullets
  • Fixed issue on Deploy Screen where the button to select a vehicle was covered by the loadout UI
  • Hourglass – Addressed a bug where light panels near C1 had no animation when being destroyed

Kaleidoscope

  • Culling behavior on windows at the base of buildings has been improved
  • Addressed a bug at C2 where the terrain near the plaza avenue planter could be destroyed enough to see the front of the asset partially float
  • Fixed several terrain and craters issues at B3
  • Fixed issue where anti-air background atmosphere tracers were placed too close to the air OOB area.
  • Addressed a bug at C2 between the electrical box and plaza foundation which prevented traversal
  • Fixed multiple asset clipping issues across the map
  • Addressed a bug on B4 where destroyed terrain could cause assets to float
  • Addressed a bug at C1 with hydrant water VFX inside the building.
  • Addressed a bug with the command post in B1 that had the material physics set to metal resulting in the wrong footsteps SFX

Manifest

  • Removed several invisible walls on Manifest
  • Fixed several light culling issues on floodlights

Orbital

  • Fixed several areas on Orbital where the light was overexposed when looking outdoors from inside a building
  • Fixed several lighting and shadow issues across tunnels in Orbital
  • Fixed several issues at B2 where Soldier encountered traversal issues when passing through two rocks and trying to return
  • Fixed an C5 Explosive issue that disappeared and did not do any damage when placed in the buildings around the D2 flag
  • Addressed a bug where soldier could get stuck under the rocket launching pad
  • Addressed a bug where multiple different impact SFX are audible when throwing any grenade at the ceiling inside D2 storage units
  • Fixed multiple issues where light was bleeding inside/outside buildings and containers
  • Addressed a bug where control panels would remain and float after their surrounding buildings were destroyed
  • Addressed a bug where you could not Hack after being Hacked by an enemy

Renewal

  • Fixed several issues with draw distance and culling of objects across the map
  • Addressed a bug in Hazard Zone where Uplinks were in locations where they couldn’t be interacted with

Stranded

  • Battlefield Portal layouts are now available for Stranded
  • Fixed issue at B1 where defenders in Rush were able to snipe at the A objective in the first sector from their HQ

  • Addressed a bug where the widget for the random deploy point was missing in FFA based Portal modes
  • Addressed a bug at C1 where an occluder was visible when looking inside the middle part of the ship near a container

  • KA-520 Super Hokum and MV-38 Condor – The Miniguns for Ground Vehicles now properly damage the Condor and Hind across various distances
  • Lock on missiles will no longer hit the helicopter pilot but instead deal damage to vehicle as intended
  • RAH-68 Huron – Addressed a bug where rain could be seen inside the cockpit of the RAH-68 Huron
  • Smart rockets now follow the same scatter angles as heavy rockets. They shoot more inwards and are more accurate
  • Stealth Helicopter Bombs will now play the bomb trail visual effects as intended for players other than the pilot dropping them.
  • The 1st person view in the Polaris RZR now displays dynamic values.
  • The audibility of the stealth helicopter bombs for low altitude bombings has been improved
  • The name of the M1A5 and T28 HEAT Shell to HE Shell to better match its functionality as anti-infantry
  • The Polaris RZR is now affected by systemic damage on its wheels.
  • The SFX from Passenger pings would sometimes play twice, so we’ve removed the repeat button
  • Wildcat – Addressed a bug which caused the crosshair for 40 and 57mm Cannons to not work properly on the Wildcat
  • Wildcat – The projectiles from the Wildcat’s 40mm cannon are now aligned with the center of the crosshair when shooting from a 1P perspective.
  • The enemy vehicle type is now shown on the Kill Card when a vehicle blows up due to vehicle collision
  • Fixed a bug where some Specialists still have their backpack gadget on while in the Polaris RZR
  • Fixed a bug where players could lock onto friendly helicopters after locking onto an enemy helicopters

EBAA Wildcat, MAV, M1A5, T28

We have increased the health for the Track / Wheel Damage Zone on Heavy Armor vehicles to ensure players have to be accurate at disabling specific vehicle parts. It now takes 2 shots to disable.

  • Tank Track / Wheels – Health Increased from 200 -> 300

EBAA Wildcat, M1A5, T28

The Turret Damage Zone also had its health increased to reward accuracy versus vehicles. It now also takes 2 shots to be taken down. To compensate, the health regenerates slower.

  • Tank / Wildcat Turret – Health increased from 250 -> 350
  • Health Regeneration Duration increased from 10 -> 14

Weapons

  • The Target 8T Iron Sight is no longer blocked when using the Skeletonized skin.
  • Added suppressor sounds to the GVT 45-70
  • DM7 – The DM7 magazine would sometimes disappear for a second after reloading when viewed from a 3rd person perspective. The mags have been given a confidence boost and no longer hide
  • Added a missing animation for the DXR-1 casing ejection
  • The AM40’s standard issue / Drum Mag now displays the correct ammo count.
  • Toggling an underbarrel will no longer appear in the HUD of nearby players
  • Addressed a bug where bipods appeared closed from another players perspective
  • Removed muzzle flash that was incorrectly visible across a number of weapons when using a suppressor
  • The M16A3 was missing pros and cons for some of its underbarrels. These have been located
  • Resolved an issue with missing SFX while reloading
  • The barrel is no longer visible while Aiming Down Sight while using the Avancys with certain scopes
  • The GAR45 silencer now properly hides you from the minimap like all light silencers.
  • Addressed a bug that was causing an invisible mesh to appear on the standard magazine of the PF51
  • Laser sight is no longer misaligned on weapons when using traversal sprint and a FOV above 55

Laser Sights

Laser Sight behavior on weaponry has received multiple fixes and visual improvements

  • Addressed a bug where the laser was floating around the weapon attachment in 1p view when using a high FOV setting
  • Addressed a bug where the laser was pointing forward too much in 1p while sprinting and using a high FOV setting
  • Fixed issue where the glare from green and blue lasers was red when looking at other players
  • Green and blue lasers are now slightly more intense than the red one
  • Lasers are now accurately blocked by geometry
  • Laser dots are now visible as intended when ADS through most sights/scopes
  • Added further visual polish and fixes to lasers

Battlefield 2042 update 1.21 (1.000.024) is available on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official BF2042 1.21 patch notes, the latest update brings Orbital rework, 3 new Vault Weapons added to All-Out Warfare and an option to Host Persistent Servers in Battlefield Portal. Apart from this, today’s Battlefield 2042 version 1.21 (1.000.024) also includes game changes & improvements.

Previously, a major BF2042 update 2.0 added addressed the visual effects (VFX) of Paik’s EMG-X Scanner. Recently, an update 2.1 also added Renewal Rework, 3 new Vault Weapons added to All-Out Warfare and a new Polaris RZR transport vehicle. Unfortunately, since the last patch, players are facing various disconnection and login issues with the game. Today’s Battlefield 2042 patch 1.21 will fix a few of these issues.

BF2042 Update 1.21 Patch Notes (v2.2) – October 20, 2022

The Update Overview:

  • A reworked version of Orbital with an improved gameplay flow, more cover and assets, and terrain improvements
  • 3 new Vault Weapons enter the All-Out Warfare arsenal; the ACW-R, AKS-74u and MP412 REX
  • Premium Battle Pass holders will have the option to keep their servers visible in the Server Browser via the new Persistent Servers Feature even when they’re not playing
  • Laser Sight behavior on weaponry has received improved visuals and is now more fluid and reactive with movement

Changelog

General

  • The in-game Blocked Players list now updates in realtime when Blocking or Unblocking a user from the same platform
  • The Squad VOIP UI is no longer visible on the Home Menu when starting the game
  • When joining a Portal Featured Experience, the map location icon is now displayed on the loading screen in the bottom-left corner of the screen
  • Resolved an issue that could display the same Welcome Screen multiple times when booting the game
  • When joining a friend in Conquest in All-Out Warfare, the bottom left corner of the loading screen now correctly states US/RU instead of No-Pat Conquest

  • The name of Crawfords Mounted Vulcan in the Mastery criteria has been corrected. Turret Assists now also progress it
  • Fixed an issue with the Statistics page not correctly tracking damage dealt with Season 2 weapons
  • Unobtainable Seasonal badges for expired Seasons are no longer present in the Upcoming rewards screen
  • Fixed an issue with Battle Rass rank ups being missed when a player ranks up too quickly
  • Added the ability to equip Player Card Backgrounds from the Battle Pass screens
  • Fixed an issue with the Battle Pass Mastery Badge tracking slowly. The badge should now track correctly when progress is made
  • Fixed an issue where the XP bar travels backwards in the XP summary screen

Audio

  • Added improvements and fixes to the Audio of C5
  • Removed a faulty Voice Line after capturing E2 on Renewal
  • Added general Audio tweaks and mixing on Orbital
  • Added sound on burning wreck on Orbital
  • Made audio improvements to Ranger’s footstep patterns when they are off screen
  • Fixed an audio issue with Ranger’s footsteps when they come to a standstill

Gadgets

  • Fixed a minor bug where a backslash symbol was present in the World Log while AI resupplies, heals or revives revives
  • Fixed an issue where grenades did not show any indicators unless facing an enemy grenade. Sometimes problems just hit you in the face
  • Fixed an issue where the “No Ammo” prompt is displayed when throwing your last available grenade
  • The wrong name is no longer displayed for the FXM-33 within the Collection screen
  • Fixed a bug where the left arm is not visible while using the Med-Pen while traversal sprint is active
  • Fixed an issue where the Repair Tool was shaking during the repairing or damaging animation
  • The Recoilless M5, SOFLAM, FXM-33 AA Missile and Javelin can now lock onto empty or neutral vehicles

Portal

Mutators

  • FriendlyFireDamageReflection mutator has been added. When using this Mutator, all damage dealt to friendlies will be reflected back at the player after two friendly fire kills.

Soldier

  • Fixed an issue which prevented movement in any direction while using a parachute
  • Soldiers are no longer able to stand on Flying Drones. Drones are not made for surfing and you should know better
  • Soldiers no longer spin for a brief moment after exiting vehicles
  • Fixed an issue where reload animations sometimes wouldn’t play as intended directly after being revived
  • Fixed an issue where moving slowly while prone could prevent the matching animations from being played
  • Soldier physics and animation stances were sometimes out of sync. This allowed movement into spaces where there wasn’t enough room to stand
  • Fixed several instances where input didn’t work while parachuting
  • Soldiers will now stop faster when starting a revive while sliding. This should prevent you from sliding out of range while starting a revive
  • Fixes several instances where the vaulting animation didn’t trigger on stairs or steep slopes
  • You can no longer deploy on a squad mate who is close to an enemy vehicle
  • It’s no longer possible to to revive teammates through glass windows on Renewal and Exposure

Specialists

Angel

  • Fixed a bug where playing Angel and being in the MD540 Nightbird passenger seat prevented you from dropping a Supply Crate

Boris

  • Fixed an issue where going outside the SG-36 Sentry Gun’s range breaks its firing animation while the Sentry Gun is moving

Casper

  • Fixed a bug where “Enter Drone” prompt is present on screen even when the player does not use Casper’s tablet
  • Fixed an issue with the EMP weapon icon missing while controlling Caspers’ Recon Drone

Crawford

  • Fixed a bug where you could disappear from the map, and squad mates wouldn’t be able to spawn on you when operating the Mounted Vulcan
  • Fixed an animation issue when picking up the Mounted Vulcan
  • Fixed an issue where the “No Ammo” prompt appears when picking up the Mounted Vulcan
  • Fixed an issue where the Mounted Vulcan shooting sound gets stuck while alt-tabbed
  • The Mounted Vulcan can now be repaired

Dozer

  • Fixed a bug where bashing a vehicle with Dozer’s SOB-8 Ballistic Shield and entering it at the same time will break 1P animations
  • Friendly players can no longer move through Dozer while his Shield is deployed

Falck

  • Resolved a broken self-heal animation upon using the S21 Syrette Pistol

Irish

  • Fixed an issue where Irish’s “Veteran” Trait prevented picking up ammo from fallen enemies
  • Fixed an issue where the APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel’s in-world icon appears blue instead of green
  • Fixed an issue where the APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel’s icon is not aligned when placing it on uneven terrain
  • Fixes several bugs which allowed the DCS Deployable Cover to be deployed inside players, vehicles or assets

Lis

  • Fixed a bug where Lis dealt 0 damage when shooting herself with the G-84 TGM. We don’t know why you want to do that though.
  • Fixed an art issue with Lis after entering BF3 Portal Collection

Mackay

  • An animation issue for Mackay during End of Round has been fixed

Paik

  • Fixed an issue with Paiks’ Scanner where the “Got one!” Voice Over would trigger while no enemy was visible on the minimap

Rao

  • Fixed an issue with Rao’s Cyber Warfare Suite where a white scanning Indicator was momentarily visible when first equipping it
  • Fixed an issue with Rao not getting XP when Hacking doors

Sundance

  • Fixed an issue where Sundance bounces while opening the Wingsuit close to the ground
  • Fixed an issue where the wrong name isdisplayed for Sundance’s Grenade Belt

Maps

We have made numerous smaller fixes across several maps with a focus on fixing bugs which could detract from a smooth and immersive gameplay experience. You should find less distractions such as becoming stuck, seeing floating, glitched or low quality terrain and assets.

Breakaway

  • Fixed some ice and snow covered mounds spawning with low quality textures when explosives are used nearby

Discarded

  • Fixed reflecting lights on the ship interior floor that didn’t accurately change position during movement

Exposure

  • Fixed an issue where soldiers could clip through the roof texture and see outside a building at A2
  • Fixed extended collision of several pine trees that prevented players from shooting through them
  • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck behind an invisible collision after falling from a cliff at B1
  • Players will no longer clip through metal beams after climbing on crates at D4
  • Fixed an issue in 64 player Breakthrough where the terrain around fences could be destroyed enough to them float
  • Fixed several areas in structures where soldiers could get stuck
  • Fixed an issue on B1 between containers and landslides which allowed players to crawl through them towards the other side
  • Fixed issue in Breakthrough where soldiers could get stuck between barriers and containers in the tunnel from US HQ to the C1 flag
  • Fixed issue at D3 where soldiers could not traverse the middle of this elevation when running towards the zipline
  • Fixed an issue on several locations where sometimes Soldiers could either go below, or into unintended locations of the map
  • Fixed issue where it was possible to see through mountain textures
  • Fixed issue where the Interaction Key remained visible after having interacted with automatic doors
  • Fixed an issue at where grenades could get glitched in the ceiling of the room with the D1 flag
  • Fixed multiple issues of stretched and corrupted textures across the map
  • Fixed multiple areas on the map where Soldiers could clip through assets or terrain
  • Fixed multiple misplaced or floating assets across the map

Hourglass

  • Fixed an issue with several buildings having collisions outside their visuals. This means they unintentionally could blog bullets
  • Fixed issue on Deploy Screen where the button to select a vehicle was covered by the loadout UI
  • Hourglass – Fixed an issue where light panels near C1 had no animation when being destroyed

Kaleidoscope

  • Culling behavior on windows at the base of buildings has been improved
  • Fixed an issue at C2 where the terrain near the plaza avenue planter could be destroyed enough to see the front of the asset partially float
  • Fixed several terrain and craters issues at B3
  • Fixed issue where anti-air background atmosphere tracers were placed too close to the air OOB area.
  • Fixed an issue at C2 between the electrical box and plaza foundation which prevented traversal
  • Fixed multiple asset clipping issues across the map
  • Fixed an issue on B4 where destroyed terrain could cause assets to float
  • Fixed an issue at C1 with hydrant water VFX inside the building.
  • Fixed an issue with the command post in B1 that had the material physics set to metal resulting in the wrong footsteps SFX

Manifest

  • Removed several invisible walls on Manifest
  • Fixed several light culling issues on floodlights

Orbital

  • Fixed several areas on Orbital where the light was overexposed when looking outdoors from inside a building
  • Fixed several lighting and shadow issues across tunnels in Orbital
  • Fixed several issues at B2 where Soldier encountered traversal issues when passing through two rocks and trying to return
  • Fixed an C5 Explosive issue that disappeared and did not do any damage when placed in the buildings around the D2 flag
  • Fixed an issue where soldier could get stuck under the rocket launching pad
  • Fixed an issue where multiple different impact SFX are audible when throwing any grenade at the ceiling inside D2 storage units
  • Fixed multiple issues where light was bleeding inside/outside buildings and containers
  • Fixed an issue where control panels would remain and float after their surrounding buildings were destroyed
  • Fixed an issue where you could not Hack after being Hacked by an enemy

Renewal

  • Fixed several issues with draw distance and culling of objects across the map
  • Fixed an issue in Hazard Zone where Uplinks were in locations where they couldn’t be interacted with
  • Fixed an issue on Sector D where Soldiers could be flag as out of bounds

Stranded

  • Battlefield Portal layouts are now available for Stranded
  • Fixed issue at B1 where defenders in Rush were able to snipe at the A objective in the first sector from their HQ
  • Fixed an issue at C2 where prone soldiers could clip with the tower platforms and could be damaged by bullets
  • Fixed an issue where the widget for the random deploy point was missing in FFA based Portal modes
  • Fixed an issue at C1 where an occluder was visible when looking inside the middle part of the ship near a container
  • Fixed an issue where soldiers were able to interact with a non usable ladder on the ship deck
  • Fixed an issue at C1 where a corner from the marketplace section in the middle of the ship was turning bright when the player was facing the wall
  • Fixed an issue at C2 where Mackay could camp on top of support beam

Vehicles

  • Bolte – Reduced size of Bolte incendiary mine AOE to match VFX.
  • Characters with items on their backs should no longer clip through the seat of the Tuk-Tuk
  • AMPs on the EBLC-RAM now blocks Sundance’s Scatter Grenades

Previously, a major BF2042 update 2.0 added addressed the visual effects (VFX) of Paik’s EMG-X Scanner. Recently, an update 2.1 also added Renewal Rework, 3 new Vault Weapons added to All-Out Warfare and a new Polaris RZR transport vehicle. Unfortunately, since the last patch, players are facing various disconnection and login issues with the game. Today’s Battlefield 2042 patch 1.20 will fix a few of these issues.

BF2042 Update 1.20 Patch Notes (v2.1.1) – October 11, 2022

General

  • Setting Mouse Raw Input to Off in Settings will no longer disable mouse movement in-game

Maps

  • Renewal – It was sometimes possible to deploy under the map in the first sector of the US HQ. This no longer happens
  • Renewal – Fixed several areas on Conquest 64 that would incorrectly flag you as Out of Bounds

Weapons

  • Firing continuously with weapons while using a controller would sometimes desync recoil between the client and the server. As a result, shots missed their target when they should have hit. This has been resolved
  • The AC-42 sights are once again useable after equipping the UH-1 Smart 1.5x Scope in the default slot
  • Fixed an issue where the mesh of the UH-1 Smart 1.5x Scope was missing from the AC-42
  • Vault Weapons now properly apply recoil reduction when playing on Console
  • The range of weapon draw speed for Vault Weapons now matches those of All-Out Warfare weaponry
  • Fixed an issue where users cannot ADS after exiting a moving vehicle if the equipped weapon has an underbarrel attachment equipped
    • This bug reappeared after we previously rolled out a fix. Please let us know if you continue to experience it after this update
  • The M16A3 now has the correct Headshot Multiplier for Assault Rifles (2.15x)

Avancys
The Avancys was highly accurate, and coupled with its large magazine size meant it was too powerful during sustained fire. We have reduced its accuracy to compensate.

  • Base Recoil increased 0.32 -> 0.36
  • Dispersion Per Shot increased 0.03 -> 0.06

K30
The K30 is intended to be a close range SMG, and was too accurate at medium distance. Its accuracy at range has therefore been decreased.

  • Min Dispersion Angle increased 0.15 -> 0.18
  • Dispersion Per Shot increased 0.09 -> 0.15
  • Dispersion Decrease Rate reduced 20 -> 4

MP9
The MP9 is also intended to be a close range SMG, and similar to the K30 received an accuracy penalty to reduce its effectiveness at medium distances.

  • Dispersion Per Shot increased 0.06 -> 0.11
  • Min Dispersion Angle increased 0.14 -> 0.17

M16A3
The M16A3 did not match the performance of other Assault Rifles. To compensate we have reduced its recoil and improved its accuracy during sustained fire.

  • Base Recoil reduced 0.44 -> 0.36
  • First Shot Recoil Multiplier reduced 1.45 -> 1.15
  • Dispersion Per Shot on ADS reduced  0.13 -> 0.1

M60E4
The M60E4 did not match the performance of other LMGs. To compensate we have reduced its recoil and improved its accuracy during sustained fire.

  • Base Recoil reduced 0.6 -> 0.54
  • Dispersion per Shot on ADS reduced 0.22 -> 0.17
  • Reduced Stepped Recoil Multiplier from 6 bullets to 4
  • Damage Increased on all ranges
